  1. I figure Espinal will be the backup 3b, Biggio and/or Clement as the backup backups I dont think there's plans to use Turner at 3b unless there's a TON of ongoing injuries, or a very weird one off in game situation in a blowout and they stick him there just because.
  2. Here's the statcast stuff from his last appearance on Feb 28th vs Tampa and FEb 24th vs Philly
  3. Please explain your thought process here when the Jays have 3 extremely good OF, two of which hit LH and all 3 of which are capable of playing CF. The 4th OF for the Jays pretty much needs to be RH. I dont think Vogelback makes the team in any case unless he has such a monster spring that it can't be ignored, but even then his role is so limited in that he's a LH pinch hitter and DH who should never see a PA against LHP, why would you want to put a guy like Barger in that role when Barger actually has the chance to be an everyday guy?
  4. HIs fastball is like 88-89 mph, throws a slider/sweeper, curve and change. Probably safe to say his stuff is similar to last year. He'd going into his age 37 season so probably not much new stuff to find. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/paolo-espino-502179?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb
  5. Nice running catch by Roden there up against the fake monster.
  6. Short attention spans when you're young. Something like that happens you move on to whats on TV
  7. Not a fan of Vggelbach and Schneider's two strike approaches, both were late on the fastball. Vogelbach fouled his off and struck out on a back up elevated slider, but Schneider was just late. Stop guessing at what's coming boys.
  8. Single, walk and 3 run HR day.
  9. Yeah. And the salary diff is like 600k between IKF and Davis. It's a marginal overall upgrade that impacts the IF defense in a negative way. If there was a way to acquire Davis and move on from Turner at the same time...I would support that but having IKF, Turner and Davis would make no sense.
  10. Overall ..Davis would maybe result in about half win improvement over IKF, just changing out a defender for a bat. IF defense would be pretty suspect overall with Davis there instead of IKF, Bo...Vlad and whomever they figure plays second. Pitchers better hope they dont throw may ground balls. That's the argument for Davis.
  11. Pretty much. Bellinger would have been preferable to KK imo, but there was no way Toronto was paying what his asking price was early on so they pivoted early to a guy who they knew wanted to be here.
  12. 2, 3 and 4 hitters today are Kirk, Vogelbach and Schneider. Probably not gonna see many hit and "run" attempts up there. More like hoping for single, walk, Bomb
  13. It's a month early to be saying "i know it's early"
  14. The extension he turned down from TO was rumoured (though not confirmed) at a 4 or 5 year extension worth 100 million.
  15. Hard to say, I doubt these agents get an offer from a team and then just call every other team saying here's what I have in hand...beat it if you want. I know it's easy to point and say "why didn't the Jays sign this guy for that?" The dynamic at this point is probably Chapman picking a team that he wants to play for and getting a s good a deal as he can. To be fair, if he opts out after this season, he took less money than the QO was.
  16. Opt outs ..it's basically a 1 year deal. Means he was never a real option. Guaranteed he was offered more at some point early on
  17. I definitely thought the trot was slow. Like...the camera followed the ball off the bat as best it could and even lingered in stands for an eternity and he hadn't hit 2b yet
  18. Just love Barger's hacks. Murderous intent every time.
  19. I don’t think I’ve heard a correct pronunciation of any Jays name so far. These Yankee ST casters are very underprepared
  20. What a s*** PA from everyone after Barger. Nobody ready for middle cut fastballs.
  21. Barger is a f***ing unit….really hope he learns to make enough contact to make it
  22. 96 inner half and he pulled the s*** out of it. No bat speed issues there… 29/30 parks it’s a HR…Fenway maybe held it?
  23. My guess says about 75-80ish % of the time. 550-570 PA unless he really struggles with the bat.
