  1. Reminds of that Irish gay couple, Patrick Fitzgerald and Gerald Fitzpatrick.
  2. They really counting on a lot of bounce-backs on the offensive side for sure. 25th in wrc+ last season. Seager was really the lone bright spot. Langford might take a step forward, but he has to get that K rate under control.
  3. Are any other of the ST invitees from Venezuela? That might be a weird X factor right now
  4. Who, on the starting 9, is Donovan better than on the current roster?
  5. Nowadays everybody wanna talk like they got something to say...but nothing comes out when they move their lips, just a bunch of gibberish, the mutha f***as act like the forgot about Trey.
  6. i hate, though understand, why Fangraphs limits free article viewing now. But mostly hate it.
  7. Just a guess on my part but I think they probably asked for the chance to match any offers he received and declined to do so given what he got from the Mets. If I was truly guessing... I think he he got his wanted amount and years from Philly, Jays were thinking about maychung when Cohen swooped in and decided to go crazy giving him a panic offer he couldn't refuse and the Jays rightly balked instantly. Pure speculation on my part with no real evidence to back it up, but I just feel like the Jays absolutely would have brought him back at the # the Phillies offered. I could also see Bo opting out of he has even a half decent season and goes back to FA next year in a weak class after the Mets collapse yet again and miss the playoffs.
  8. I dont think Santander was a dumb or desperation move at all. They got a guy who averaged 30+ HRs over the previous 3 years for CBT hit of 13.7m. Injury killed him last year. s*** happens.
  9. Have you tried going lefty for a month or so? Give the right side a break
  10. Borucki to the White Sox on a minor league deal
  11. There are a few grievances right now from the PA against some owners, which is probably why some of the typically lower spending trams have dropped some cash on signings this offseason. And with the obvious lockout coming up, it never hurts to get public opinion on the owner's side. A few ridiculous overspends by teams that can do it always sends the casuals in to a frenzy of "why do these players think theyre worth so much"
  12. Realistically the last thing that needs to fall into place for the Jays to truly be on par with the elite organizations is their prospect and player development being more consistent. Even as it stands now its getting better, but its not at the point where youd be confident saying "yes, when the Jays draft this kind of player, he will turn out to be at least a major league regular" Some success stories for sure lately, and their strength seems to be plucking guys from other orgs that haven't broken through and getting them to the next level, so that definitely helps offset it.
  13. So the Tucker deal... 64 million of the total is a signing bonus, 54 million of which is paid in 2026. Dude is getting paid close to 100 million dollars for next season
  14. Doesn't Ernie project at 3 fWAR at 2b? So really Donovan wouldn't be a needle mover. Marte... yeah. Buxton is a freak of nature. Just oozes skills and results..... when he isn't hurt, which is alot. When you google "Byron Buxton injury history" it says something when there's a "next page" option.
  15. threepeat chances i guess. They want to be seen as the current dynasty
  16. Hahahahshahs thats utterly ridiculous 4/260... 30 million deferred...opt out after 2028.
  17. International amateur FA signing period opens today. Anyone have anything on who the Jays have lined up?
  18. the extra years would just be to lower the AAV. And while I probably agree he's not on a HOF track, he's heading for the Hall of Great. more than 25 fWAR before 30 when you only really have about 5 seasons worth of PAs is better than Vlad's trajectory.
  19. Gotta be today tho right? Not being a dick, just thinking.. today or tomorrow has to be the day.
  20. Suarez,Crochet, Gray, and Bello all put the ball on the ground alot. Hows that Red Sox IF defense looking?
  21. His type of psychosis would be virtually impossible to mask
  22. As a baseline skill to start developing further offensive talent from in the minors, I agree. I don't think it's the premier tool they seek for the major league roster though.
  23. I slightly object to the narrative they prioritized contact over power... Santander was hurt pretty much the entire year, Varsho was hurt a lot, and their replacements weren't exactly big HR threats. I don't think the narrative that they prioritize contact overall is true, but just more contact oriented players were playing last year due to the power guys being hurt. Their approach was quite balanced overall. That being said, I hope Vlad keeps his playoff vibes going and we see the 40+ HR version of Vlad in 2026. 23 HRs in a full season from a guy with his talent is just absurd. He should be hitting 30 just by falling out of bed.
  24. Interesting.. the report was 120 to 140 a few hours ago, now up to 3/150 Jays running up the price?
