    Jazz Chisolm to the IL with injury sustained to his left UCL on a slide in yesterday's game. Surgery possible.

    Naw, sorry, i got my threads mixed up. I was advocating trading Bassitt in the offseason, to free up money to chase the top guy. Depending on the return, it may also help fill a pen role and/or even another depth starter.

    Im cool with both Francis and Yariel as the 4/5 at this point TBH, which leaves Bloss as the the defacto #6 I think (which is likely where he belongs right now). Yariel can't be optioned next season without his permission and Francis is out of options, so... truly it looks like adding at the top and shipping out Bassitt might be the play. Acquired top guy, Gausman, Berrios, Francis and Yariel with Bloss as the first man up, Manoah maybe being an option down the stretch... Pretty RH Heavy, but that's life.

    It's something that would likely even out after the guy left Colorado and started playing elsewhere. But yeah, to what degree is the important part.

    His splitter was lethal last night. really kept them from squaring up the fastball. His splitter development this season has been very important.

    Some great comments from the mouth breathing section of other sports outlets: "Oh sure, send down a player who actually has some hits." "What a joke, first hit and it's goodbye to Buffalo? Fire Schneider." It gets worse from there. Apparently, Los Santos was the second coming of Mike Trout. I always love checking the comments just to feel better that despite this board's issues, the general baseball knowledge here is so far above the casual fan its astounding.

    hits lefties quite well, can play a few positions (not very well mind you). Also cheap as hell for the rest of the year. There's no real point in the jays claiming him though since they want to look at the kids.

    I dont disagree, its just that he's terrible on the OF and his natural 3b position is blocked in STL. There might be a deal there under the right circumstances.

    Bieber would be interesting for sure, but yes he's probably missing a month or two in 2025. Had TJ sometime around April 10 this year. Burnes would be my #1 choice. I suspect Bieber will sign another 1 year deal with Cleveland, probably with options added on Trade market...f***ed if I know really. I'm not sure the Jays have the pieces to even trade for a #1 type SP. I think they could land a top tier reliever or two though.

    I agree that having the best 4 and 5 is nice, but i do that by getting another top arm which pushes 3 and 4 to 4 and 5. And the previous 5, ideally someone young with less than 3 years of service time, to be the first man up when injury happens.

    may as well. open roster spots, hope 1 works out. What else they gonna do at this point of the season? the only guys with real talent that might appear on waivers will be old and/or expensive, which they don't want.

    The Blue Jays have claimed Luis Frías off of waivers from the Diamondbacks, according to both teams. Arizona designated the right-hander for assignment on Thursday to make room for catcher Andrew Knizner on the 40-man roster. Toronto has optioned Frías to Triple-A Buffalo, reports Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet. The Blue Jays had two open spots on their 40-man roster, so no additional roster moves will be necessary. He throws a hard sinker, thats about all I know. It's a "throw s*** at the wall and see if it sticks" move for the pen
