  1. Yeah, especially when he popped 16 bases in that 1 game.
  2. Yeah, it really played well off the high fastball since his curve doesn't really have a massive hump out of his hand, there is a little one, but when the high heat is effective and the splitter is being thrown for strikes, that's 3 pitches that tunnel pretty well off each other. Hitters have to wait that extra split second to rule out the curve and split, late on the non-elite heat.
  3. As far as quantity ... no. But, is there really a true impact player there? ... I mean, sure you hope so, but honestly even if they get 1 league average regular or back-end starter for the next 6 seasons, it's a clear win.
  4. Yelich done for the season with back surgery. Sucks to be Milwaukee...
  5. Stop me if you've heard this one before... Buxton to the IL. Hip injury, no damage seen but going to the 10-Day IL
  6. The grass is always greener syndrome.
  7. He'll get plenty of reps between now and the end of the season
  8. Pipelines dont matter when you dont want to spend the money to fill in the cracks. Look at Pittsburgh and several other low spending teams. Great young talent, might make a playoff appearance or two before they all get traded because ownership wont pony up what's needed to either retain their stars, or to fill the rosters holes.
  9. For Berrios, do we get a fielder in the bleachers?
  10. He should just retire .... I have to watch the games on mute when he's doing PBP
  11. "Analytics tells you what happened in the past, it doesn't tell you what's going to happen in the future." What will Buck? Your eyes? Pretty sure your eyes only tell you what happened in the past Batting average? Also past. Buck. Shut The f*** Up About Analytics
  12. Make that back to back with Horwitz. Even better
  13. Tuned in just to see vlad foul off that two strike slider...then jack one over the fence. Excellent timing
  14. Jazz Chisolm to the IL with injury sustained to his left UCL on a slide in yesterday's game. Surgery possible.
  15. Naw, sorry, i got my threads mixed up. I was advocating trading Bassitt in the offseason, to free up money to chase the top guy. Depending on the return, it may also help fill a pen role and/or even another depth starter.
  16. Look on the bright side, he may start hitting 70% ground balls again for a month.
  17. Im cool with both Francis and Yariel as the 4/5 at this point TBH, which leaves Bloss as the the defacto #6 I think (which is likely where he belongs right now). Yariel can't be optioned next season without his permission and Francis is out of options, so... truly it looks like adding at the top and shipping out Bassitt might be the play. Acquired top guy, Gausman, Berrios, Francis and Yariel with Bloss as the first man up, Manoah maybe being an option down the stretch... Pretty RH Heavy, but that's life.
  18. It's something that would likely even out after the guy left Colorado and started playing elsewhere. But yeah, to what degree is the important part.
  19. Savanah Bananas?
  20. His splitter was lethal last night. really kept them from squaring up the fastball. His splitter development this season has been very important.
  21. Some great comments from the mouth breathing section of other sports outlets: "Oh sure, send down a player who actually has some hits." "What a joke, first hit and it's goodbye to Buffalo? Fire Schneider." It gets worse from there. Apparently, Los Santos was the second coming of Mike Trout. I always love checking the comments just to feel better that despite this board's issues, the general baseball knowledge here is so far above the casual fan its astounding.
  22. hits lefties quite well, can play a few positions (not very well mind you). Also cheap as hell for the rest of the year. There's no real point in the jays claiming him though since they want to look at the kids.
  23. Dodgers activated Betts, DFA Amed Rosario
  24. I dont disagree, its just that he's terrible on the OF and his natural 3b position is blocked in STL. There might be a deal there under the right circumstances.
  25. Jordan Walker perhaps from STL
