    Of course. We dominate league this year with some average luck in 1 run games, so there's plenty of talent even without those two. We had the best pitching staff in the league by a substantial margin and look to have upgraded with Liriano. However they choose to allocate their 30+ million in the offseason, the foundation for contention is already in place.

    Yeah I agree. We're probably around 15 right now, perhaps a bit higher. If Shapiro holds on to most of them, we're possibly top 10 by next June with the potential for extra first rounders.

    Why are people so obsessed with the save statistic? Three runs isn't some magic number because some guy assigned a stat to it.

    I don't know, I think it's pretty balanced. It's not like a lot of other teams have more than we do at AA and higher.

    Our offensive struggles this game have more to do with the umpire than our hitters. It's embarrassing for the game of baseball to have guys officiate this poorly.

    I don't need to suggest that his defense was fine before his knee problems because it's an outright fact. I don't see what it has to do with this discussion though. A good lefty bat is a great fit here. We can live with below average D in the corner outfield.

    Every team that needs a lefty bat is going to keyhole on Saunders. After him you're looking at Lind, Smith, Moss...

    I would absolutely offer it to him because I think both possible outcomes are good for us. He's an excellent fit for a team that needs a corner outfielder, needs a lefty bat, and has an extreme groundball staff. Perhaps we shouldn't overreact to one year of UZR or RISP data when the track record suggests they may both be outliers.

    Shapiro is going to have at least 30 million, perhaps much more, to spend next year and not a lot of holes to fill. We'll also be getting 3 additional draft picks so perhaps he'll be more comfortable dealing a prospect as well.
