  1. I'd pray to a fake deity if I thought it would make this happen.
  2. Can't be certain but Ramirez and Martin reacted as if it were clearly foul. It looked that way on the replay too but the angle sucked.
  3. Gary Cederstrom will be the home plate umpire for the game. He is ranked slightly below average and favours hitters with a tight zone. Most importantly perhaps is he's pretty calm and probably won't throw players out.
  4. Was king even alive when that came out?
  5. Perhaps. I'd hope that our front office doesn't interfere too much with in-game decisions though. That's a recipe for problems.
  6. It's unfair to infer that Gibby doesn't know how to manage a WC game based on his regular season managing style. It was probably a prudent decision to go with his starters considering our 'pen was a horrific 23-32 with 22 blown saves.
  7. The eye test certainly supports that. He gets a feeling of invincibility or something and starts pounding the middle of the zone with fastballs.
  8. Stroman gives up a .607 OPS first time through and it goes up to .764 by the third time. His ERA is also a run lower at home. Tillman is the exact opposite. He gets crushed to the tune of an .800 OPS first time through and gets stronger.
  9. I like the flexibility that Goins and Pompey give us as pinch runner and defenders. Could be important in the later innings.
  10. I like Ernie Johnson on that NBA show with Shaq and Barkley of it's the same guy.
  11. The fact that they are so familiar with Stroman makes me nervous. Liriano dominated them so soundly last time out, I think in part because they had never seen him.
  12. Chris Tillman is a career 2-6 with a 7.01 ERA in 68 innings at Rogers Centre. He also gives up an .800 OPS the first time through the lineup for his career.
  13. I'm sure a few players have already tapped that.
  14. I meant the ALDS, brain fart.
  15. I've gotten used to systematic bias in MLB. It's there from the umpires to the voters to the commissioner, so nothing could surprise me.
  16. I think he's set to start game 1 of the ALCS on regular rest. I know the game is important, but we've seen what happens when you mess with their routines.
  17. Ie. He might have a guest on who might tell him.
  18. Dickey
  19. If you want to make that asinine argument then Donaldson is the clear MVP. He's pretty much even with Betts and every win for us mattered. Their position wouldn't change without Betts.
  20. All I know is we had better crush them early because we're getting 2+ innings of Britton.
  21. Poor Mike Trout. This isn't like last year where it was close. He's miles ahead with Donaldson and Betts a distant second. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-actual-difference-between-mike-trout-and-mookie-betts/
  22. He loves Stroman too and sees him as the staff ace.
  23. So three Blue Jays finished in the top 10 in pitcher WAR this year. That can't happen very often. Marco Estrada makes it 4 in the top 15.
  24. Unless I'm mistaken, we can just go Estrada and Happ on regular rest. No need for Dickey.
