  1. I think that could change as a reliever. Russ Martin knows what he's doing.
  2. I would consider Ryan Goins in that scenario. It gives us an awful lot of flexibility in a close game because he can pinch run and play anywhere.
  3. Stroman would be such a monster as a reliever in the playoffs.
  4. That's sad because you could make a legit argument that he was a better player than Ortiz. He has 45 WAR in 8000 PA, while Ortiz had 50 in 10000+ PA.
  5. So I guess the next question for us is the postseason roster. We've certainly got a lot of decisions on the bench and in the bullpen. Here's how I see it: Locks: C- Martin 1B- Encarnacion 2B- Travis 3B- Donaldson SS- Tulowitzki LF- Saunders (stud vs. Tillman) CF- Pillar RF- Bautista DH- Bn- Upton Bn- Barney Bn- Carrera Bn- Bn- SP- Sanchez SP- Happ SP- Estrada SP- RP- Osuna RP- Grilli RP- Cecil RP- Biagini RP- Feldman (barely) RP- RP- P- Liriano P- Stroman ______________________________________ Decisions: *R.A. Dickey: For me, you put Stroman in the 'pen and he's your long man with Feldman. I think he could be incredibly valuable in that role. Obviously if Dickey makes the team then so does Thole. *Smoak vs. Pompey vs. Navarro: I would like to see all three make the team, but if Thole is on the bench then we have some decisions to make. Gibby has shown more confidence in Navarro than in Smoak lately. Pompey's value was evident in the playoffs last season. Would they take 3 catchers? I hope not. *7th reliever: If Dickey doesn't make the team then it comes down to Loup, Schultz, Tepera, and Barnes. If Liriano is starting then you almost have to take Loup, but I'm not sure what route they will go.
  6. Chris Smith lol Ryan Tepera types can at least take pride in the fact that they may have helped earn a win during the season.
  7. I agree with starting Liriano. Stroman just hasn't been good enough lately.
  8. Should we be celebrating a late season collapse that took us from heavy division favourites to sneaking into a glorified tiebreaker?
  9. Boston has been incredibly lucky this season. Perfect example of bad sequencing there.
  10. I almost threw up there.
  11. You live for these times, Bats.
  12. This ballpark is such a piece of s***.
  13. That's the worst part. It was definitive and he was ready to walk back to the plate.
  14. Systematic bias. There's no conspiracy, there's no questions. It's plain for everyone to see.
  15. From my understanding he was a trouble maker growing up and has used his celebrity to go out of his way to publicly trash his hometown. He's also defended the act of child molestation, which I don't support.
  16. From Pedroia's hometown of Woodland CA, which despises him.
  17. I guess someone who is despised in his hometown for being an arrogant prick and someone who defends the actions of child molesters hasn't done anything to disrespect the game. News to me.
  18. What is wrong with you? I'm allowed to not like athletes that have a history of treating others like s*** and disrespecting the game, especially when they play for a competitor.
  19. I never said he didn't make mistakes, but a bunch of people implied he just wasn't trying. He might be the most intense competitor in the game. That's why we love (or hate) him.
  20. Anyone who thinks Bautista "isn't trying" haven't watched much Blue Jays baseball for several years.
  21. Boston's money goes a long way with the umps.
  22. Exactly. I feel bad for casual Jays fans like stangstag that don't get it. They'll never have the same experience.
  23. Lol @ our so called fans defending one of the most disgusting pieces of s*** in the game, a black mark on the game of baseball. f*** him and f*** the red sox. Go Jays!
  24. He doesn't deserve to play the game of baseball again. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later.
