    Good post. A lottery ticket indeed. If nothing else, should be a viable option against LHP. It just sucks handcuffing yourself with a guy like Viciedo, knowing that he's almost certainly a one dimensional player who really can only DH/play sparingly in the OF. That being said, I'm fine with the move. It's pretty meh, but there is a chance he does force his way into some DH starts against lefties as someone said.

    Still love this move. Like BTS said no one thought a Kazmir or Colon resurgence would happen either. Hopefully he can bring something to the table still, even if its only ~120 IP.

    That sounds like my dad. He doesn't understand advanced stats (nor does he care to) but he's a huge fan of Kawa because he's so damn likeable. What I hate is when people form arguments from opinions like this. Casuals make the baseball world go round, but lots of them won't budge even when numbers are in front of them.

    If I was to head down (need to graduate first!), I think I would be most interested in watching practices, BP and scrim games. Getting a look at the guys preparing for the season rather than watching them play pointless ST games. If Dunedin is anything like the complexes in AZ, having all the fields next to one another would allow me to watch a ton of guys in the same place. I also really want to go to the DR to watch some DWL action. Almost did it a few years ago with my dad, but we decided against it while we were down there. Knowing what I know now, we definitely should've done it.

    I was referring to Bautista a couple years ago for Profar, but I know what you mean. We can quibble on the rankings, but I was more just referencing trading an establish power bat for an up the middle prospect.

    The fact that you're of the belief that Izturis' injury was any more freak than Stanton's is considerably more concerning. Both injuries were out of said player's control. One gets mocked, one doesn't. One is a superstar, one is a bench player. See the correlation?
