Now would be the time to try and extend Vlad His career has been massively underwhelming to this point but this is his fifth season and he’s only 24. Some guys are just debuting at this age All his batted ball stats are still bonkers. xBA over .300 and xSLG north of .500

The closer they get to FA the less incentive there is to sign an extension.

I agree. Like I said as long as Kirk is catching the position will have to be a tandem and if you run some s***** all glove no bat as part of the tandem that’s not pretty

Well ya I’m sure he would be open to getting more money. The point of doing it this offseason was to try and lock in a lower rate. Plus I don’t think I’d be too horny to give him more than 10M/year. Two arb years and two free agent years would’ve taken him to age 32 at 10M/year.

They should’ve extended him this offseason. A 4/40M extension that bought out his last two arb years and two FA years was what I suggested. As long as Kirk is here there will have to be a catching tandem

I try and make competitive offers when I do. I look at other teams needs and try and find a fit. Sometimes they’re strong enough to be accepted without a counter I get sick of guys making me dogshit offers and then asking “well what do you want?”
