Machado's on a record pace for doubles.. still, they need pitching badly in Baltimore if they're gonna stay in contention. July's schedule features teams likely to be in contention, including:
Yankees(twice, starting tonight)
White Sox
Rangers
Blue Jays(we swept them last time)
Rangers again
Royals
Red Sox
August isn't any easier either, and don't ask about September. Baltimore's lack of pitching depth is going to get exposed when they face elite teams.
As a result, the Jays still have a decent chance at catching that 2nd wild card spot(and maybe 1st, depending on what happens with Texas/Oakland--nobody else outside of maybe Cleveland has a shot of contending in the Central, the Yankees can't hit(offsetting their strong pitching), and who knows what the Rays will do.
Remember, the Jays sked begins to soften after the Detroit series.
