  1. RE: Leonys Martin I think it's exceedingly likely that the Mariners are able to work out a trade. Toronto probably won't get a chance to claim him. Would they trade something for him? Maybe.
  2. IIRC the run environment in the MWL is actually slightly depressed.
  3. It's bad but not horrendous. Brett Oberholtzer is also making a strong call-up case. Spinning a good game today so far (5 IP, 4 K, 1 BB, 1 ER) and his ERA is sitting at 1.29 through ~3 starts.
  4. immediately? haha
  5. After the first month of the season it is
  6. YEs! A slightly upgraded version of Upton

What was the statement? That the Raptors are awful and have no chance? If so, true.
  8. There's only enough room for one Albert Pujols on a team
  9. Yikes, Casey Lawrence. Maybe he'll have some rookie magic.
  10. Michael Piñata is great, but JT is clearly the superior asset. Woo.
  11. Guys, I'm pretty sure they call Syndergaard Thor for more than one reason. - his name sounds Norse (even if it isn't) - he looks like Chris Hemsworth sort of - he is really big and athletic, like a god - he has a 'hammer' curveball - he is essentially a pitching god your all dum
  12. And add who? (probably)
  13. Grant he's been throwing 100 for a decade now and nothing has changed
  14. Conner Greene juice from a member of the Trenton Thunder broadcast team:
  15. Yeah his sinker velocity so far this year (which is what matters) isn't that far off his 2016. He had a bunch of starts where it was like 86-87mph.
  16. Yeah that too
  17. Contextually, I already own Votto, Miggy, and THE GREG BIRD in that league. It was Kyle or nothing.
  18. Had no idea his velocity was down so much.
  19. Tristan Pompey slashing a cool .371/.483/.573 as a sophomore at Kentucky, top 10 in the SEC in a lot of stats. Should be a day 1 selection in 2018 at this rate. Might be better than his brother? Not sure how his power/defense/speed tools actually grade out but it's clear he can hit.
  20. Grant discusses the Mariners' offense:
  21. Convert DSJ to util? Remember at the draft, he had some history of playing the infield. In 2014 Toronto did give him a crack at playing 2B but it was very short lived. He either failed brilliantly or they just pulled the plug for some other reason and never tried again. Judging solely from games played, it looks like they are still trying to keep his fringe-fringe CF skills alive. But it seems like he's just a pure LF and there's no other way to make him work as a ball player.
  22. It's remarkable just how useless Bautista, Pearce, and Travis have all looked. It's like they have no clue how to hit anymore. Bautista was swinging through 89mph meatballs from a lefty last night. Pearce is channeling Tim Tebow. Travis is hitting the ball about as hard as your average 14 year old would.
