    Yeah. Only way to have a player on the 40 and not burn an option is to have them in the big leagues all year (or almost all year).

    That’s not how options work. If he’s on the 40 and spends 20 days (I think) in the minors then that uses up an “option year”. So a player can burn an option if they are on the 40 but don’t even spend one day in the majors.

    They probably give consideration to factors like - day game after a night game I would hope they give substantially less consideration to factors like - welp it’s a Sunday and lots of kids might be there

    I don’t even think the Vlad off days has a whole lot to do with his weight, and I don’t mind them at all. The team isn’t competing and lots of hitting prospects his age, or even older, are in their first year of full season pro ball. It’s good, I think, to give him the odd physical and - maybe even more importantly - mental rest. Remember, Bo is older and had a lot of “rest” from game action earlier this year.

    Viable OF/1B/UTIL bats CJ Cron and Avi Garcia available to lengthen your contending offence. Not too pricey.

    That LD was ridiculous. Shulman was saying "it's not a home run" in flight but then the ball hit like 6 inches below the top of the wall. Might have been the lowest HR ever if it had a tiny bit more backspin or lift.

    It's crazy that people keep talking themselves into getting even mildly excited about how certain big signings / trades make sense for Toronto. I guess if the Padres can sign Manny Machado, anything can happen, but...

    Toronto is sitting 5th last in the league, now ten games "back" of the #1 pick. There is a decent chance, with the recent promotions, that they continue slide in the tankathon standings. I would expect them to finish in the 5th to 8th overall pick range. A month or so ago it looked like they might be bad enough to get the #2 or #3 pick. Do you care?
