  1. I can't see Ohtani ever giving up on pitching, whether or not it might be the "right decision". He's just so f***ing good on the mound. Even if he has TJS again I would bet on him rehabbing and making another mound comeback attempt. I mean it's Verlander/Cole/Scherzer type stuff. He's also a good hitter and would probably be a really good full time outfielder, but that seems like the safer and lower upside route. I would not predict that bat Ohtani will ever really be a better offensive fantasy asset than we've already seen, which is a decent but frustrating UTIL player (barring a horrific arm injury that kills his pitching career entirely). In fact, when he's back on the bump I would guess that the Angels will actually limit his DH days even more than in 2018 while he was pitching, in an attempt to limit taxation on his body and prevent injuries.
  2. Infuriating game. Twins should be up but are getting skunked. Yankees getting lucky every way
  3. Holy f*** Twins. Deserve to get swept now.
  4. Kind of like Grichuk except four years older. Not really interested.
  5. Kevin stop Nobody likes the Rays
  6. Yeah the Cards v Barves both don't look good, so that one's about even. Dakota Hudson is an Aaron Sanchez type and Keuchel on short rest is who the f*** knows. I think the Rays - Astros is about even. Big edge Nats IMO I will give the Twinks a 51% chance to win. Yankees losing would be good for me in the pool.
  7. I like the Twins to stay alive today. Not enough to pick them, but they are at home, have a good offense, and who knows what Severino will show up with.
  8. Does anyone know of a board member who would want silverbum's team? Also, in my absence as available commissioner Boxcar, Dinger, and P2F will be co-head-commissioners, jointly and severally, with all powers that I have as supreme leader save and except the ability to make unilateral and arbitrary decisions of high importance.
  9. I've gone ahead and given almost everyone commissioner access (you can only appoint 15). Please feel free to click around and make sure s*** is set up correctly. I will not be performing any commissioner duties for quite some time. Don't break anything. Yes Boxy, we will make changes to the handling of minor league players as needed. I did change the written rules a bit when moving them over to Fantrax - did a quick re-write so most of it makes sense in the new environment.
  10. I realize. Was just obvious to me that the Braves were the best pick today until Scherzer wasn’t going. Thought the shade against Soroka / Atlanta had no substance. I know you’re good at stocks and life

They will have 25 available numbers and just hand out jerseys like a high school sports team. You get what we have, Clint!
  12. nvm just checked Waino's statcast page. Wish I went with the Cards.
  13. Wainwright and Sanchez are both mediocre. Ryu and Soroka are both quite good. Both are on the road. Braves offense is good, Cards is okay. Dodgers offense is very good, Nats is good. I don't care about rookie / veteran narrative stuff. All noise. Braves are probably ~55% favourites. I think the Dodgers went from a similar number to maybe 57% or something like that once Scherzer was not starting. Love the false sense of predictive power that some people get just because they own some stocks or have ~20 years experience betting on sports and probably not winning big in the aggregate.

I know, I looked at their list of best players quickly and nobody is good enough or stuck around long enough. It’s Spezza and Mike Fisher arguably as the best combinations of good and team longevity

Number retirement is an honour that *should* be reserved for legends. I have no issue with the Senators honouring their loyal employee in some way but to retire his number is just kind of sad for the franchise.
  16. Are any of the Nats good starters available out of the pen?

Ottawa retiring Chris Phillips’ number? Okay... lmao
  18. Everybody going Astros has me wondering if this is the time to swerve...
