  2. Probably Allen.
  3. Okay, Sam. Good luck this year
  4. He’s more or less a replacement level arm and I don’t see any upside there. The fact that he has not been atrocious means some team that needs an SP8 or length in the bullpen might trade something for him.
  5. As a team/organization gets better and deeper it will inevitably start to shed higher quality players. Good problem. The trick is getting value back. They should be able to deal a guy like Gaviglio for something. Not much, but something. Same for a few of those other names. The Rays have perpetual 40 man crunches. Always wheeling and dealing
  6. Waiver and MiLB picks are now on the spreadsheet, on crude new tabs, in order. If someone who knows how to spreadsheet wants to clean them up or move them to the other draft pages that would be welcome. I think they are all right but I need to be reminded of any waiver pick swaps that were not on the spreadsheet already. Any trades of 2020 waiver picks or 2020 prospect draft picks need to be posted here for logging. They won't be tracked in Fantrax anymore because I need to make the draft "complete" before the season begins. If you trade any picks please reference them by their pick number on the sheet (for example, pick #69) rather than by round ("my 3rd rounder"). It just will make it easier to log stuff in now that the orders are up. So, your 2020 draft picks that are on Fantrax will disappear and become untradeable on Fantrax at some point soon. You can continue to deal 2021 prospect draft picks in Fantrax. Those are for the 2021 New Player Draft.
  7. As the roster improves more guys look like reasonable DFA candidates. Valera - you'd think they keep him for now due to SS depth but they do have Espinal on the 40 also Davis and McKinney - do we really care? Romano - do we really care? Pannone Gaviglio Also, the chaff is decent enough now that they might flip someone in a trade rather than DFA (or after DFAing)
  8. That's a weird one. I don't think there was even one rumour that he was coming back; last MLBTR hit for him is from 2014. From unrumoured to major league deal? I don't want to overstate it but whether or not he is any good will be a good test of the team's scouting/analytics department because there are decent MLB relievers on the board still.
  9. Not sure where you are getting those numbers but I’m referencing the preseason rankings shown on BR. Anyway, if the team traded Groshans right now it would arguably be the second best prospect even traded in context, behind only d’Arnaud (if we say a top ~30 prospect pitcher is worse than a top 30 prospect hitter)
  10. FanGraphs has an auction calculator that will give you roto dollar values.
  11. Anything with wearable technology, or any new technology for that matter, has potential issues both obvious and unpredictable.
  12. On the surface it does but I've yet to see an actual proposal that doesn't have flaws.
  13. - waiver draft will no longer exist in the spring so there needs to be some system in place to distribute talent incoming through the offseason (mature international signings) - fantrax has issues with leaving a draft "incomplete" during the active season. If we are tracking picks in fantrax the draft needs to resolve before the seasons starts. Moving the MiLB draft to before the season and just calling it a comprehensive New Player Draft solves both things pretty simply. The 2021 New Player Draft will be weak but that's a one time inconvenience.
  14. Okay so the vote passed very quickly. Summary of the major changes: - Starting in 2021 the league will be a true dynasty league - There will be no MLB roster cutdown; you keep all of your players forever - Roster limitations will now carry through the offseason - You can make MLB add/drops in the offseason - We will no longer have a waiver draft and a prospect draft - We will have one "New Player Draft" in February(ish) every year, like in the LOD - Our first NPD will be in 2021 - The 2021 draft will be weak because the 2020 amateur draft will have already been picked over by our league. Keep this in mind when acquiring 2021 draft picks. - In 2020 we will still have our two drafts. We need to track the picks for both drafts on a spreadsheet for 2020. We can't use Fantrax for tracking the 2020 draft picks because we can't leave the draft "unfinished" after the start of the season - apparently that would f*** up the league. Not a big deal for one year but another reason switching to one NPD before the season helps. Some possible other changes and things to be decided: - We could exclude 2020 J2 (international) players from our 2020 summer draft in order to add a few interesting names to the weak 2021 NPD - We could expand to 26 man rosters to mirror the MLB and do that at the start of the 2021 NPD, freezing free agency at the time. People could then use a draft pick on a 26th MLB player, making the weak 2021 draft a bit more interesting. - We could expand minor league rosters a bit since we are becoming a true dynasty and we are not as concerned about parity and player turnover. - We may be able to use Fantrax's live online draft room tool for the NPD. You can set the clocks to 12 hours if you want. It automates emails to people and you can leave a queue in the draft room to pick for you as soon as you are up. It sounds promising but I haven't tried it. - We may have to rethink our rules around adding free agents, eligibility to be added based on level if prior year, and MLB debut additions. - We may mess with the draft lottery to provide no incentives to tanking going forward.
  15. Late on this but a great trade by eze to get Smith, Didi, and SWR for Ozuna.
  16. One idea to make the 2021 draft not as terrible would be to declare the 2020 J2 players ineligible for our 2020 summer draft. That would add a small group of relevant players to the 2021 draft. It would not diminish the 2020 draft by much at all.
  17. Not in the league but you should probably walk away from the broken deal and sell those two dudes individually for more
  18. Yeah it’s business as usual for 2020 — the only real difference for people to keep in mind is when they are dealing with/for 2021 picks in trade those picks aren’t necessarily as valuable as draft picks usually are, because the most recent MLB draft prospects will already have been picked over by our 2020 prospect draft. And the 2021 new player draft will be just like the LOD so it will include the future Tsutsugos and Akiyamas. It’s undecided how we will handle guys like Lindblom... we may or may not handle them the same as the LOD does
  19. BTS you accidentally sent your email to the DDL
  20. Don’t need an addendum. If the vote passes then we’ll just impose any necessary lesser rule changes to make everything make sense
  21. And it will suck for everyone, right. So it’ll suck but be fair. There’s also a few months of additional minor league data and offseason prospect rankings that will make a good number of prospects rise up
  22. I am serious and think this is something we should do. Making a poll.
