  1. I don't really disagree.
  2. Maybe Toronto would actually have a competitive advantage playing out of a minor league stadium because the team is so young. Tell some crusty vet like Madison Bumgarner that he has to prepare and play out of Buffalo and he'll have a tantrum. Tell Nate Pearson or Bo Bichette that and it's just any other Wednesday, my dudes.
  3. Brian Johnson. Ryan Weber? Jhoulys Chacin just asked for his release from the Twins. Zack Godley. Hilariously bad. The O's might have a better set of arms. TORONTO MIGHT BE ABLE TO BEAT UP ON THESE CHUMPS AND POUND THEIR WAY TO A WILD CARD SPOT. LOTS OF GAMES AGAINST TRASH PITCHING.
  4. The NHL bubble is largely a one-time crossing; teams cross and then hunker down and bubble up (in theory). It's similar to what Toronto did for summer training this month, but at a much larger scale. The MLB plan really was not a bubble. It was different teams crossing from different US locations every series. It was Toronto flying out and back again numerous times. And all of these other US locations have different rules. Guaranteed in some of the US locations with lax rules players will be breaking whatever flimsy bubble rules MLB or the team have. I don't think reference to the daily border crossings is a fair criticism. As has been stated, this is mostly commercial traffic of the essential variety. We need essential workers and we need to eat. Nobody needs baseball in Toronto.
  5. Buffalo to New York is like a 6 hour drive. Dunedin to the Trop is nothing. Maybe Pittsburgh is the answer. Closer to Buffalo.
  6. Proximity, mainly. Dunedin gives them an actual training hub for the 60 man roster and the Trop is close to Dunedin.
  7. Entirely speculation but I think they'll work out some arrangements with several MLB teams, one of which will be the Rays. They can primarily train at Dunedin and play at the Trop. TB and TOR have 10 scheduled home games that would conflict: Aug 25-26-27 Sep 10-11-12-13; 25-26-27 Toronto would have to find an MLB team that is away on those 10 days and use their stadium. Yeah, Florida is a Covid mess but the team can just bubble hard. I dunno. Marlins are away on the August conflict dates and the final three September conflict dates. Braves are away on the first four September conflict dates.
  8. I'd like to see Fisher surprise too but I think there's a 90% chance he is just clueless and sucks.
  9. Grichuk McGuire Panik Romano Font Hatch Murphy Borucki should disappoint. People are expecting way too much based on the mirage of 2018. I expect Kay and Dolis to be contributors so I won't consider them possible surprises.
  10. Anticlimactic!!!
  11. Tough to trade a guy back to a team like that would be with Reese.
  12. maybe in a universe where everything that is wrong is right
  13. I wouldn't trade Kirk for a teenage Mickey Mantle I wouldn't trade Kirk for ANYTHING

You lay garbage on this forum every day, mate. Spanky is a licensed brick fluffer too.
  15. Toronto has some good prospect depth though. What about Gabriel Moreno? Delete Manoah and swap Moreno for Kirk and I'm pulling the trigger all day every day.
  16. On the Jays' part it was probably just tire kicking. They f***ed up the Chris Archer trade so bad, worth seeing if you could steal them of Austin Meadows again.

what about a brick fluffer or garbage layer?
  18. Reynolds was over 3 WAR in 2019, projects to be above average, and is their best projected position player. I don't see much opportunity to pay a fair rate for him in that context. They can certainly have Robertson + Fisher or Teoscar + an actual prospect but I would not deal Kirk or Manoah. Kirk is untouchable. I wouldn't trade him for Mike Trout.
  19. Through random variation alone it's so easy to see the projected records of Toronto and Tampa Bay flipping. The season is so short that it's silly.
  20. You tried but it still doesn't make sense. Martin's basis for making #2 slot value demands largely evaporated when he slid to the 5th pick. To say that Toronto dicked Martin around by not giving into his demands is just some stubborn dumb f*** s***. Grow up metafour!!!!
  21. Your point about Martin made no sense - that was all I was saying. For all we know the Orioles or Marlins were prepared to give Torkelson $8M+ if Detroit let him slide. I generally agree though that Detroit does not have an impressive front office so it is possible that they just got out-negotiated by a superstar agent.
  22. Toronto picked Martin 5th and paid him the 2nd highest bonus in the draft, $800k over slot. Toronto dicked around Nick Frasso a bit to appease Martin. Your above bolded paragraph is just confused and does not make a clear point.
  23. Nobody is bent - your post was just incredibly dumb and amusing for that reason.
