  1. Why isn’t Wilmer Font just soaking up the rest of this game? Nvm, he’s not there
  2. Complaining about your superstar dynasty asset getting hurt is the worst humble brag. Boo hoo. Try again next year with your generational asset.
  3. The option is effectively $9M and Chase Anderson is a quality veteran starter. He's a contact control guy and is evidently underrated by DIPS. His K/BB looks rock solid this year though. Bring him back!
  4. When did Chase Anderson become my boy? I mean, I love children so I'll take him but I'm just not sure of the origins here.
  5. Chase Anderson vs. Jake deGrom. Not sure it matters who is on the roster tonight!
  6. Sorry Tanner, all of your pitches have Covid. We'll send you to Dr. Andrews but we may need to cut your dick off.
  7. And some of those criticisms are f***ing stupid.
  8. No, it does not absolutely mean that. What it does mean is that anyone flippantly criticizing Montoyo's decisions on pitcher usage should pause and consider the possibility that they are the one who is outdated and wrong.
  9. Real baseball people know Jim is real baseball people
  10. I don't hate him, I'm just capable of separating the actual talent from the name and reputation. He's a back end starter talent at this point and you can't rely on him to eat innings. A horse poop option in disguise. Pass.
  11. Taijuan Walker had TJS over two years ago, Real Baseball Jim. He pitched post-surgery in 2019 and had a normal offseason. His stuff is not going to get any better.
  12. But is he? I don't think anybody is pitching an unhealthy amount of innings. The guys being asked to go most often are the utterly replaceable veterans like Dolis, Cole, Gooch, and Bass. It's not like Buntoyo is out there ruining any great young arms. The roster rules this year make it pretty hard to actually tax the pen.

On his limited attempts he also seems to be getting to the rim and battling there better than Siakam. The rim protection by Boston just seems insanely good.

It would seem like bad strategy at this point to put the ball in Siakam's hands and just expect him to break out and win the series. I think they should rely on him as little as possible - just enough that he continues to draw sufficient attention to free up the other players. Game on the line though, he's one of the last rotation players I want trying to score unless he's benefiting from a mismatch.
  15. The Blue Jays have the top bullpen in MLB by WAR and a top five bullpen by both ERA and FIP. 22nd in SP WAR, 22nd in FIP, and 14th in ERA. Let's acknowledge how f***ing stupid it is for anyone to criticize the team - Charlie or the front office - for going to the pen early. The only possible context to criticize would be if Ryu is getting yanked for a s***** reliever.
  16. It really isn't. There's an extra 0.5-0.8 mph on the average FB but all things considered it's not a dissimilar package. I think this is adequately displayed by their K/BB rates and DIPS.
  17. Is Walker talented though? I see an average FB and unimpressive secondaries. At best he seems to be a younger Tanner Roark, except you can't count on health. If anything I think he gets overpaid in free agency. I'd much rather pick up Anderson's option and/or bring back the old veteran Matt Shoemaker on a cheap deal. Ryu Pearson Stripling Anderson Shoe Roark Merryweather Kay Hatch Gooch Thornton Wag Zoinks Murphy Murray SWR
  18. Yeah Roark's talents look a lot worse in a season like this. They have 10 arms in the pen on any given night and at least half of them can pitch multiple innings so there is never a justification for satisfying Tanner Roark's masochism and letting him throw until the other team gets tired from hitting too many dingers. Next year in a (hopefully) regular 162 game season this won't really be an issue. The team will probably let him start regularly and go deeper, unless they are blessed by perfect SP health and talent pushes Roark out of the rotation. Nobody will trade for him anyway.
  19. Free agency can have Tanner Roark back. Fine.

Just a very well coached game. Lots of defensive scheme switching. Tough for any player to score consistently.

    Pascal is f***ing awful.
  22. I'm not a f***ing Jizz Jedi, Jim.
  23. I'm all ears when it comes to that. Been having some chaffing issues
  24. Don't you dare tell us how to moderate!
  25. It's extra tough when you've had three or more false puberties. Imagine being 22 and sprouting your first pube?
