I doubt it. They are only four games back of the Mets. A mediocre team wins that division and they have a decent chance still. They can also call up Pache and Drew Waters and try to catch prospect lightning in a bottle.

Gurriel is a more traditional guy. Someone with a hit tool, power, and an arm. In theory he should be able to hit .280+ with 30+ homers and helpful OF defense, year after year. Biggio is like the polar opposite. I can see why many would prefer Gurriel. Belief in him and skepticism of Biggio.

Toronto gets: Bryant, Hendricks, Kimbrel, and Rizzo. Chicago gets: Biggio, Grichuk, Will Robertson and Adam Kloffenstein. Money would move around in some way. Chicago to Toronto for this year probably. The two prospects don't have a lot of value but help Chicago sell the deal to fans. Grichuk for Hendricks + Kimbrel is kind of a bad contracts swap and lets Toronto's position player roster work better. Biggio is the meat of the deal for Chicago and is a controllable, cheap player with upside. Hendricks+Kimbrel makes it not a pure win-now move for Toronto. Rizzo and Bryant make the offense absolutely unbelievable for the 2021 push. I know Chicago laughs Atkins off the phone if he actually proposes this unless they are stupid in love with Biggio.

The more damning part of the story is her attitude. As evidenced by the messages to the friend. the alleged victim told the friend she allegedly had a past sexual relationship with San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis, Jr., saying she "cant believe I achieved that," The woman went on to send the friend screenshots of Instagram DMs allegedly exchanged between herself and Bauer, noting that she was "going to his house" that week and "already [has] her hooks in," adding, "you know how I roll." The woman told the friend she was "literally going to get in his head"… "and find pine tar." She added, "trust me I know what I'm doing." The messages show the woman then responded to an Instagram Story posted by the friend showing a meme of Tatis mocking Bauer's one-eyed pitching earlier this year, writing, "Ur welcome for getting in bauers head��," with the money-tongue emoji. This message was dated April 24, which would have been after the first alleged violent sexual encounter the woman said she had with Bauer. In the exchange, the woman appeared to grow agitated that the friend would not message about the case. The woman referred to PPD as "those corrupt f--kers" and said cops had interrogated her about "setting this up" and how she "joked about his amount of money and how I wanted to be a baseball wife." It seems like she was f***ing with Bauer on purpose? Like there was some form of premeditation going on. It also seems like her main goal might have been money or some form of entrapment and this legal stuff is... revenge? Because he didn't want any more to do with her? Just bizarre. None of this looks good for her, that's for sure.
