  1. Right. All these guys playing with the highest level of analytical and coaching support in history are wrong, and an old drunk who hasn't played in decades is right.
  2. He is obsessed with this catching on one knee thing this season
  3. Or just additional lines of inquiry specific to these allegations Or just excuse making by the department who are now being accused of working slowly
  4. The Supreme Court of Canada would say something like: "that the victim consented to the act is no defense for an accused WHEN the result of the act is serious bodily harm and when the accused intended to cause serious bodily harm" Stuff like this can come down to disputes about definitions. When does trivial bodily harm become serious bodily harm? It's a question of fact and judges may even disagree.
  5. No. Of course not. There is a line. Cases like this have been tried numerous times at our Supreme Court. They are interesting reads. I believe in autonomy and freedom. If someone wants to be slapped around and choked out in bed, I don't think the other person should be held to the legal fire for the reasonably foreseeable results. If someone wants their sexual partner to cut their arm off, then a line has been crossed and public policy should say that the person doing the cutting should be held to the legal fire i.e. tried for serious assault. There is a line in the sand. Somewhere.
  6. Toronto's popularity upside has always shown well when it comes to ASG voting. When the team is doing well or players are having phenomenal years, they tend to get extremely high vote counts. I think Bautista broke some ASG voting records and then a few years later Donaldson did the same thing. I'm sure this helps a little bit with some free agents, particularly guys like Semien and Ray who are trying to shine for one season.
  7. http://www.thecourt.ca/consent-and-sexual-assault-causing-bodily-harm-r-v-zhao/ The above is probably a decent summary of the relevant high level law in Canada. There are of course people who are into BDSM that leaves marks, bruises, and swelling. Of course there are. There are people that hang their bodies from meat hooks for fun, man.
  8. I agree with you but as a mod I guess I should say that the comments here should from now on at least sort of tie into the Bauer story
  9. The people who hate him now all, unanimously, thought he was a harrassing mysoginist loser BEFORE the Dodgers even signed him. His popularity level may have barely changed because of this. I'm not sure the Dodgers care that much but of course it all depends on the actual facts and we don't know then. Like, when the Dodgers signed him they can't have expected a clean tenure. He is always a circus. This is just a horny and violent circus
  10. They can only cancel people if weak middle men like you let them. Grow a skeleton, kid. The SJW crowd is like 5% of the planet. The loudest 5%, sure, but a significant minority.
  11. This guy seems like a f***ing waste of skin. Note that he presents no argument or justification for his opinion
  12. Because Giolito was maybe one of the biggest success stories of the sticky stuff. He went from nearly a bust to an Ace. Did he rub his balls with sticky stuff in between?
  13. He's a moron for having freaky sex with a random from social media, 100%. Even if he's innocent, he could really blame himself for any consequences he ends up facing
  14. If they suspend him for pure cringe I would be okay with the decision
  15. You can basically prove/deduce/infer from the current public record that she did not suffer a skull fracture and in fact suffered no injuries other than the superficial kind that you would expect from being slapped, choked out, etc. Note how the comments by her lawyer never say she had a skull fracture. This is because she didn't have one. Any reasonable person can conclude this by recognizing that if she did have a skull fracture that FACT would be bolded and highlighted in the releases. Instead we get this vague reference to an initial medical report saying there were signs of a possible basal skull fracture. Lawyer probably saw that note and decided that it sounded juicy. All that the public story says at this point is that she had an acute head injury. That could literally mean a swollen cheek and split lip. "The woman said in her declaration she was diagnosed with an acute head injury and assault by manual strangulation" ------ yes because you asked to be slapped hard and choked out, you f***ing idiot. What did you think would happen? You'd wake up feeling great? Also, you don't get "diagnosed" with assault, LMFAO.
  16. Yup. Gagging and puking on this news
  17. Photos are completely consistent with what someone who wanted to be choked out and slapped hard would look like. No foul. He's clearly innocent and she's just a crazy person or a scorned hopeful lover. I don't carry this opinion lightly. I can just smell ********
  18. Mmm nah I would however trade an injured Shane Bieber for a huge bat, a rock solid young SP, and a serviceable old SP in a 30 team dynasty if I was all in this year
  19. He's not going to be a pumpkin immediately but if he is an SP3 at best going forward the team has no shot
  20. Are you worried about Ryu at this point? Yes/No.
  21. Go watch an archived game that Vin Scully did solo
