  1. DH - Stanton - fine, some injuries RF - Judge - good 3B - Urshela - 105 wRC+, probably what was expected reasonably speaking SS - Torres - 106 wRC+, they will want more power but he's at 1.4 fWAR and playing good D per the stats so not sure Yankees fans should get greedy on him 2B - DJLM - huge disappointment, hilarious, he is the Rockies version of himself again. K rate way up too. Hopefully this is the new old DJ. 1B - Voit - big injury loss so far. should be a big boost when back and healthy LF - Frazier - huge disappointment, looks like a replacement level player, the breakout in 2020 was a mirage? C - Sanchez/Higashioka - Yankees should count their blessings that Higashioka exists and Sanchez has been useful. Pretty obvious that Gary Sanchez is now a Rob Deer type catcher and nothing more. CF - Gardner/Hicks - this is just poor roster construction, right? Why are these old farts your CF tandem in 2021? In summary: Some bad luck but also some poor roster construction and, more than anything, an overreliance on your own genius and a series of breakout players. Regression to the mean is a powerful thing. Odds were that not all of Urshela, DJLM, Voit, and Frazier would sustain their breakouts. Probably should have traded Urshela and not committed to DJLM and instead moved to get younger and more athletic. Worst BsR in baseball!
  2. but sErViCe TiMe MaNiPuLaTiOn is the only explanation!!!!
  3. Fatty has hip flexor issues already. Not a good sign.
  4. Kenyan Middleton readily available for a 2nd round pick. Might take a 3rd. Currently closing for Seattle. Throws hard, was always thought of as a future backend reliever.
  5. He begged MLB to police it. They refused. He did it to prove a point and got rich in the process. He will win twice over if they now try to police it. Just a total Chad. A man among boys. The King.
  6. People who laugh at Bauer in this spin saga have just completely lost the plot
  7. Winker would cost way too much. He's home grown for them, hitting out of his kind, and under control for a couple more years. He also might not be a massive upgrade. If they are pushing chips in it will be for pitching

It's not "okay" it just doesn't warrant any sympathy in this context. Meaningless and insincere threats and forms of harassment through social media are unfortunately part of our world. They don't mean anything and they should just be ignored. Scheifele drawing attention to them, intentional or not, only serves to deflect attention away from what HE did wrong. No amount of pundits saying it is bad to harass people on social media is actually going to prevent the trolls from actually harassing people on social media. You see offenders and transgressors play this card all the time these days. Boo f***ing hoo. Honestly, if my kid turned into a wildly successful professional athlete making millions of dollars you could all PM me a death threat every morning for breakfast.
  9. I don't even know what this post is supposed to mean. Go literally get killed by a swarm of blackflies.
  10. Why even roster Yar Bro if you are going to bench him against a team with a 96 wRC+ though... I guess you just assumed that the Yankees were a top tier offensive team without looking.

This sympathy card is way too easy for people to play. A small number of *******s are harassing his family members, it is what it is, just ignore/block them. There are no sincere threats to their safety because of your dirty hockey hit. If you feel that bad for your family then send them some of your money to make them feel better.
  12. Just hilarious and also sad how all of the 100 IQ middle of the curve fans on here were absolutely right. Yes, the team was insanely stupid for letting him return to play so quickly and letting him try to play through these injuries. Just insanely stupid. Can't even say "in hindsight" because, again, all of the plebs here saw it as it unfolded.
  13. He's going to miss the season for precautionary reasons
  14. Yeah, huge difference. The massivo contractos all tend to be players with real defensive value - good outfielders or shortstops. Stanton wasn't a DH when he signed his extension, remember. We haven't had a 1B/DH break $250M. I believe Pujols was 10/240 and Miggy was 8/248. Votto 10/225. Fielder 9/214. If you are on the Toronto management side of things those are the precedents you are pulling out in negotiations. There really isn't a precedent for anybody giving a s*** about 1B defense when it comes to these big deals.
  15. not much, especially when the player, you know, hasn't won a a gold glove
  16. They'll DFA McGuire again and/or trade him if they can't sneak him through. They might give Kirk an extra long conditioning stint in AAA first though.

This is the more complete text: "A minor or major penalty shall be imposed on a player who skates, jumps into or charges an opponent in any manner. Charging shall mean the actions of a player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner. A “charge” may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice." I would probably reword it to something like this: Charging shall mean: - leaving your feet and jumping into a player at the point of contact - travelling an unnecessary distance to apply a violent hit to a player - gathering an excessive and unnecessary amount of speed in order to violently hit a player - in all instances a key consideration is whether or not the player making the hit's primary motivation is to make a violent hit. If the hitting player makes a valid play on the puck while making a hit, or only applies enough force in the hit to separate the defender from the puck, then it it is less likely to be charging.

"Charging shall mean the actions of a player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner. A “charge” may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice." The "don't stop skating thing" is not true. It's basically 2 (or 5) minutes for hitting too hard. You're not allowed to skate end to end and pick up as much speed as possible to destroy someone. It's one of the worst rules in hockey as far as it is written and enforced. Anyway, Scheifele definitely was guilty of it here. And you could argue that the principal point of contact was in fact Evans' f***ing face:
  19. He would have to clear waivers. He is out of options. They actually designated him for assignment back in April and he did NOT get claimed.

I noticed this too. If he made a play on the puck he might have prevented the goal. Idiot.
  21. That's why the professional hitter Jack Panik is hitting 6th. Rowdy Tellez strikes out there
