  1. His injuries have been too persistent/serious. Can't even get on the mount in the last few years.
  2. Yeah maybe he's fine. His overall numbers are still good, just not as dominant as 2020. Maybe 2020 was a bit lucky.
  3. Is that true? His spin rate on the season isn't down vs 2020.
  4. I guess with the slider being bad guys can just sit fastball, and adjust to murder cement mixer sliders if they see them?
  5. He looks much worse this year. Very inconsistent with the breaker and his fastball seems a bit weaker
  6. I don't mind this at all. They should be using Romano a lot and it was the heart of the order. Nothing wrong with aggressively trying to lock in wins.
  7. I still have a decent farm somehow, lol
  8. Rush the man. Rush him.
  9. I mean that's kind of what happens when a 40 year old returns to the mound somewhat abruptly after two years off
  10. Rowdy and I have a complicated relationship. The problem is that he does suck but he can also hit.
  11. Rowdy Tellez PH 3 run go ahead HR. So Toronto appears to have capitulated and sold the absolute bottom on Tellez. Hmmmm.
  12. Nothing wrong with low-balling dudes. Every so often a player will accept a stink bid. See Acuna, Albies.
  13. Watching his OBP slowly bleed out this year has been f***ing painful. wRC+ by month: March/April -- 126 May -- 116 June -- 76 July -- 67 August -- 18 2 years at $10.3M each after 2021. I guess if he can avoid further decline he's still a useful bench player given that he can cut it in CF so it's not likely we see him released, but he's costing the team when deployed as a starter.
  14. comparing the Jays to the Leafs is a bannable offense. be careful
  15. Funny what a change of scenery can do. He looked like garbage here this year.
  16. Espinal has a much better glove than either of Lopez or Taylor. And Lopez has a better hit tool. Taylor probably has the best speed and power but is the least likely to stick in the big leagues because of hit/defense.
  17. Canario is the same age as college players. He's a lottery ticket with more information.
  18. We might see something come out after the season where Cavan Biggio reveals that he had some type of chronic issue.
  19. Fangraphs ranked all the prospects traded at the deadline. They also included "compensatory pick" because of the Bryant thing. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/ranking-the-prospects-traded-during-the-2021-deadline/ Pretty hard to argue that Colorado would not have received more than the comp pick. Brian got a player a tier above the pick PLUS a player equal to the pick.
  20. That's funny, they ranked "compensation pick" because of the Trevor Story situation. Tagging connorp.
  21. It's honestly just a pick 'em. Could throw those names in a hat. Don't be too quick to heavily discount the guys with some MLB level struggles in favour of the guys like Meyer and Baz with clean MiLB stats. It's actually a pretty interesting bag. Manning, Patino, and Pearson have huge huge pedigrees but recent warts. Baz and Meyer have great MiLB stats but are untested at the highest level. McClanahan might stand out to me as the one guy with elite stuff and success from the start here.... You basically need a back-tested model to rank them.
