  1. I guess the question of who the closer is with the White Sox got answered today.
  2. Badler said today that Pardinho has been shut down with elbow soreness for the last month
  3. Eovaldi would eat Espinal alive. Valera is due. He will hit tonight.
  4. Eovaldi is sitting at 2.65 FIP, 3.57 xFIP, and 3.9 fWAR. All of those numbers would be tops in Toronto. He will be a test. Pretty good arm to somehow have on "the worst pitching staff in the history of baseball" - Grant77
  5. wtf is dirty water supposed to mean? an inside joke about fenway because it's full of poo? a not too sneaky appeal to their redneck fanbase?
  6. Man I'd be in great shape too if a couple of trainers with cattle prods followed me around all winter
  7. I think your explanation was better actually!
  8. Processed on Aug 5, 2021, 8:00:00 PM TCA risked it all for Luis Gil. To the second. Did you like, write a script to make that add?
  9. Sure but it's understandable that his diet / habits / weight would regress a little bit. Changing habits like that is hard and most of the time it's not actually a cold turkey or switch flip thing. I think most people that make big changes that stick probably go through a series of little regressions but they are able to dig in and get back on track. You know, you see lots of people flip a switch and get in shape over a series of months but a good number of them just slowly gain the weight back over time. This offseason will be the big test. Does he bear down again and come into camp in even better shape, or does he rest on his good season and come in + lbs?
  10. Mate, your last two posts in this thread have more words in them than every other post in the last three pages, combined. You are the one with a fixation. Move on. Rowdy is gone. You don't need to justify the trade to yourself anymore. David Ortiz references don't help at all, by the way, lmao.
  11. Yeah he's interesting. Had massive numbers as a senior after struggling in previous college playing time. Maybe one of those sneaky senior picks who despite bad numbers would have been selected in 2020 on tools alone, if that draft was of normal length.
  12. Because they have six starters and don't want to demote one to the pen, I guess
  13. also they are so smarmy about that lucky season with a bunch of slapdick hitters and relievers
  14. I think the correct answer is the Royals.
  15. thanks for the analysis, willy
  16. Beating the Sox helps with the WC chase but the Division will be about thumping the Rays.
  17. Austin Martin only gets an HM SWR not mentioned hmmmmm
  18. poll is missing one AL team
  19. admin is the only one who could make a change like that but he hasn't been around so I doubt he actually changed something. maybe the spaghetti code got slurped up by a hacker advertiser
  20. "SquadUp" --> literally can't figure out what team this is without googling it. horrible tag marketing. all of those hashtags suck ass though
  21. IIRC he tried to play for del Licey this winter. I remember reading a tweet that he was signed by them. But it looks like he never got into a game. Probably sucked in camp or got hurt right away?
  22. Interesting. It looks like a spin rate decline happened in the middle of this year, but his current rates aren't much different from 2020. Although if you look at the lower end of his current spin rates they are lower than 2020, particularly if you ignore the first couple of games in 2020.
