    I do not disagree with you necessarily But his FB is getting hammered more this season than ever I actually don't know how good the secondaries are with him anymore. Higher usage and those figured will dip. Some of the stuff like whiff rates don't look amazing or elite in past seasons.

    I definitely have more confidence that Merryweather can figure his s*** out at this level than Borucki. Borucki has no idea where anything is going - can barely hit the strike zone anymore. Merryweather can actually throw strikes. His problems are less extreme. Just missing in or around the zone. Also probably being very unlucky.

    I don't know rugby but policies that like can work if most every call is subjective, because a culture of disputing calls leads to a bad product. Like the whining in basketball about officiating, and flopping, on every play is just awful to watch. But with pitching and balls/strikes it's objective. It was either in or out. On a macro level maybe the pitchers getting upset from time to time could help things change for the better... be that robo umps or just umps assessing their own processes better or policing each other better. Like, if the ump is egregiously wrong they should be put on the spot.

    Someone will sign him to be a SP I have no interest. He's a downgrade in every conceivable role. Cooked.

    I just watched some of the 2022 youtube videos of Groshans' at bats Really patient approach. Spits on a lot of pitches, spits on junk consistently, seems to rarely make bad swings. A lot of his contact is pretty boring though. Grounders down the line, little duck farts to right field. Looks more like DJ LeMahieu or Brandon Nimmo than any type of power hitter

    Yeah there is a theory that if this new baseball is THE new baseball for years and years it should favour contact hitters more. Well, at least a lot more than the game has favoured contact / line drive type hitters over the last few years.

    It's WEIRD because everyone thought of him as power prospect. Apparently he just does not hit the ball hard. Maybe he can learn. But it's not concerning per se.

    Those are all results measurements Is there anything at the process level that is off? I think I looked two weeks ago and couldn't find anything obvious. Velo and movement all seem normal. I guess his command could just be off but that still makes you ask why.

    Very easy to have top down SP yanking rules Harder to have strict bullpen usage rules, a lot of that is discretion based and in game decisions But yeah stuff as basic as don't have that guy three days in a row unless it's the playoffs should be common sense
