  1. haha no way. it's got Bichette, Vlad, Gurriel, and Chapman. There have been entire Blue Jays teams with no hitters as good as any of them. Tapia, Biggio, and Collins are also not complete zeros. In theory. Zimmer and Katoh are zeros though. Still fun to see Katoh draw in for one.
  2. Of course it's worse. This is like the sucker punch version
  3. He doesn't really monetize it directly. It's a resume / hobby thing. Derek Carty. He writes for and shows up on The Athletic, ESPN, etc. He uses these tools to win big money fantasy baseball things so I guess that's some monetization. Actually maybe he used to sell it to subscribers or something. I don't know.
  4. Apparently THE BAT is the best projection system, when back tested. It was made by a big nerd. I think THE BAT X is a version that the creator uses to experiment with newer inputs, like it uses some statcast data right now. It could be better than THE BAT but the X literally stands for experimental so
  5. Gore looks good again. If the guy had replaced Greene with some filler piece then it's a solid deal.
  6. Love it when young guys fill my holes
  7. Doesn't change my opinion. I don't think Jesus is that good. Also, I think Gray > Waino, despite early season results. It mostly comes down to Kershaw though. If he stays healthy then your P upgrade is better than the OF downgrade I guess.
  8. Yeah Kershaw is a big injury red flag. If he goes down, that trade is awful.
  9. well that offer sucks but have you seen Jeremy Pena's statcast page? wow.
  10. I dunno, Bo has actually looked fabulous there this year up until those two throws last night. I kind of think the work is paying off and this will be a bit of a Marcus Semien situation.
  11. I would be interested in knowing the Jays front office people's opinions on Ryu. I guess his avg velocity is down literally one mph from the start of his career, but he was very effective in this velo range in 2020 and the first half of 2021. His velo actually went up a bit in the second half of 2021. It must be something else with a physical cause... like decreased effectiveness on a key pitch. The only thing that jumps off his statcast page to me is that his FB% is way up in 2022 and 2021 vs the few years prior. 35% 4 seamers this year and last vs 24% to 31% the three previous years Changeup use seems down. Is he having trouble executing an effective changeup? Could that be caused by a sore arm? A lower half problem? Back problems? Changeups are unique because they use a different full body musculature than all other pitches. The best changeup artists (of some varieties, not all) use little tricks like deadening their lower half --- so you get a body that is intentionally out of sync, sort of. I always kind of thought Marco Estrada's uber-elite changeup caused his back problems. I would imagine a guy whose body kind of contorts through the core and legs and almost fights against itself as the pitch is thrown.
  12. this was not a dirty slide, lmao Voit looks immediately remorseful about the contact Stephenson literally dives into Voit's path to make the tag
  13. jeremy pena and brandon belt are killing it on my bench i offered pena to jimbo for bellinger and he turned it down WHAT THE f*** how and why
  14. Ryu was a 2.5 fWAR pitcher last year. He started 31 games. If he's not on the team they are mathematically eliminated a couple of days earlier. The Ryan comp misses a bit. One good year on a five year deal is obviously worse than whatever the end result ends up being with Ryu. Even if Ryu limps to the finish with 1 WAR this year and next, he is a way better outcome than Ryan.
  15. Does Springer look great? Admittedly I only watched him from time to time when he was with Houston but he looks off balance and a little f***ing weird on every single swing. Like, hurt or something. Does he have a tiny bit of Hunter Pence in his swing and always has???
  16. Teoscar Harnendex cant play shortstop, idiot
  17. Yeah at least Smallgio walks every other game.
  18. he made the 5 star play throwing like that earlier and it must have been in his head that it is cool and works for him. oops.
  19. hmmm i don't think his FB% jumped with Toronto. I actually don't know what specific tweaks they made with Matz. Maybe it was just enough to say "hey, you're not a Met anymore"
  20. Posting is a privilege, not a right. Watch it kid.
