  1. So other than the pitching side I don't think you're going to get a deep list of hyped up prospects who got screwed by injuries. On the hitting side you'll have to just think of plain old disappointments. Travis Snider and Sil Campusano are probably on the corners. I guess Josh Phelps is the 1B? He could also be DH or C but there are many other C options. Russ Adams the SS?
  2. this seems depressing
  3. there is something very fun about watching a changeup artist. Marcum, Estrada.... Stripling at points last year gave me flashbacks to those guys.
  4. Yeah sort of similar. Morrow held up like twice as long though. He did alright for the Jays - they got a lot of value from him.
  5. Dustin McGowan - 1.5 successful years as SP then rekt by injuries, eventually just left as a FA Aaron Sanchez - brief success as a reliever, then one good year as a SP, before being rekt by injuries and s*** command. Dumped for "nothing" in a trade Nate Pearson - can't stay healthy doing anything. Will Toronto repeat the mistakes they made with Sanchez and McGowan? Or trade him while he still has many years of control and some other time might still sort of want him?
  6. You make the mistake here if thinking anyone gives a f*** what you even think about this. It's sad that you still don't get it. The line "It’s like NBA players, you’d think they’d get their money and thug out..." is patently racist. It's as simple as word choice. "thug out" is just abhorrently racist in that context. Grossly racist. You'll probably never get it though because you are extremely stupid. And modern media makes guys like you think they are unique and important and overflowing with sage practical wisdom and common sense.
  7. The Blue Jays have become international signing geniuses so we can assume this guy is a monster
  8. I love it though because they probably outbid the penny pinching Red Sox for many of these mediocre talents
  9. But fWAR is not relevant for arb and they do use hardware. Vlad had MVP runner up, AS, SS going into first arb. The near MVP win probably carried tons of weight. Bichette just can't compare.
  10. He’s slower than Freddie Freeman and Shea Langeliers
  11. Sprint speed should be incredibly accurate in small sample sizes though Bo’s sprint speed feel off a cliff didn’t it? He’s just not fast
  12. I like the challenge system because it's better than the current system
  13. logjam cleared could still trade Profar, Blackmon, or Hendricks for a pick upgrade or a decent 2024 pick or prospect upgrade.
  14. Berrios had certainly the worst opening day start in Blue Jays history He got one out and gave up 4 runs, right?
  15. connorp gets a short timeout to think about why and how he was being racist
  16. Toronto did everything they could do hide Hernandez and Gurriel in aggressive shifting patterns but they are truly godawful defenders. So happy they are gone.
  17. Must move some of these guys: 1 of Sal Perez or Logan O'Hoppe Ramon Laureano Marcus Stroman Hunter Renfroe Kyle Bradish John Means Adam Wainwright Kyle Hendricks Charlie Blackmon Daniel Lynch Dean Kremer Jurickson Profar Roughly sorted by value, top down. Would takes pick upgrades for most, particularly the bottom half. Top ~4 names probably have the most value but all of these names are very available as I fear a roster crunch in spring training and want to get in front of it.
  18. Cavan Biggio is the utility guy maybe he can grow his hair out and join the Barrio
  19. I don't think he's any BIGGER he's just not any SMALLER.
  20. complete agree, Jimcanuck, in fact perhaps the Belt signing is a precursor
  21. I am now past the point of hoping that he ever gets in shape But if he is a groundball machine again this year the pattern will be glaringly obvious as his one elite season will have come after his one offseason of trimming weight
  22. yeah they are getting some pretty optimistic projections from Steamer other systems disagree (Steamer - The Bat) Siri: 2.7 - 1.5 Bethancourt: 2.1 - 0.6 Aranda: 1.6 - 0.5 Franco: 5.6 - 4.8 Diaz: 4.1 - 3.2 Paredes: 2.9 - 2.3 The Bat must be a bit more conservative. I see some 0.5 WAR discrepancies for the Toronto hitters, but there aren't any gaps as big as some of these Rays projection gaps.
  23. The Padres should sign him for the rivalry
  24. https://www.mlb.com/news/vladimir-guerrero-jr-batting-practice-cow Vlad is fat #WeightWatchers
