  1. Sparky, no more disability jokes.
  2. Toronto almost never has “targets”. It’s not how they operate. Personal opinion but I don’t think they were that hot for Nimmo or Conforto, for defensive reasons. From everything they’ve said improving run prevention was a huge priority. Nimmo isn’t a bad defender but he’s kind of a fringe CF, like Springer I bet Toronto thought they had some of the worst corner outfield defense in the game recently
  3. admin deleted the thread may have gotten a third party take down request because of the picture, I dunno
  4. You could “project” Moreno as a 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4 win player And Varsho as a 4, 4, 4, 4 win player, and reasonably still do the deal based on team need and context. Moreno would have bigger error bars on his projections of course. Higher chance of being below average
  5. There is an open spot on the 40 man roster now Wonder if that means anything. Like a planned signing
  6. I am very sorry that your dad died repeatedly, Carlos. Groundhog Day situation?
  7. Just crazy that they ripped the heart and soul out of the team (Toescar Hernandez and Loordes Guriel) and traded away two of their best hitters in the process + the best prospect in baseball and all they have to show for it is... ... a defensive specialist and a reliever who was not even trusted in Seattle!? It's pretty horrible. And then they repeat the Ryu contract mistake on Chris Bassitt. Just a low upside kitchen-sink pitcher without good stuff. He has also had two major injuries in his career tommy johns surgery and a brain injury. I don't love the logic of trading for pitchers whose heads are so big they are at risk of getting beaned on every cumbacker. Where is the second closer we needed? All this trading and Kikoochi is still in the projected rotation? smh
  8. The Jays are 6th in project WAR but basically tied with the Braves and Rays for 4th. Toronto has more projected WAR than the Dodgers and Astros. Just 3 projected wins behind the Yankees.
  9. I have had sex NUMEROUS times
  10. He is kind of like Kole Calhoun but if he was a phenomenal defender Maybe more power but his physique is so similar to Calhoun
  11. Wow I guess he could go back to the Giants they probably have a number in mind they’d be comfortable at
  12. No On the stat side you just regress the splits But they would all incorporate scouting opinions too and granular data like if a guy gets just f***ing destroyed by lefty sliders maybe you can tell sooner that he’s hopeless
  13. His entire career is a SSS for platoon splits It takes like 1000+ PA against LHP for a LHB’s talent to be apparent
  14. People with Asperger’s do understand extreme social discomfort and a horde of screeching leftists is very disconcerting
  15. Danny “He-Jan” Jansen had a f***ing .250+ iSO last season with a 17.7% K rate. Wild stuff from a good defensive C
  16. I would reject the notion that they are doing boring long term stuff Varsho fits the 2023 roster like a f***ing glove and they burned some future value to get that Bassitt is very much a stabilization purchase for 2023
  17. This is absolutely the best pre-season Blue Jays team I have ever seen.
  18. Or 0 wins Carlos Rodon isn't exactly bankable production The Jays are running a borderline luxury tax payroll and you are making cheapness accusations, lmao.
  19. the nice thing about Varsho is this his OF defense has been elite in three seasons, and all metrics agree. 2020 155 innings 3 DRS 2 OAA 19 UZR/150 2021 338 innings 4 DRS 4 OAA 14 UZR/150 2022 920 innings 19 DRS 17 OAA 23 UZR/150 Note UZR/150 is a rate stat so you can compare directly but OAA and DRS are additive so you need to do some mental extrapolation to see they basically agree with 2022.
  20. His 50th percentile projection might be around 3 WAR but I would say his chances up repeating 4+ WAR seasons are pretty realistic.
  21. I believe they will remain "opportunistic" for SP upgrades and RP upgrades. But wouldn't really expect any other than MiLB signings. One stud LHRP would sure be nice.
  22. I think they are done adding bats, unless they decide to trade Merrifield and bring someone else in. Merrifield probably plays LF against all LHP and one of KK or Varsho sits. Probably KK. Espinal at 2B on those days. Horwitz, Lukes, Barger, and Lopez all have options so they can fight for 2 spots in spring.
  23. They don't give a s*** about optics for Lourdes f***ing Gurriel, lmao. They just traded Teoscar Hernandez (way better player) for a reliever. This front office is ruthless. It's all calculated and they all have asperbergers so they don't care or understand social impact.
  24. Okay, but we've seen guys like this sign for a few mill more than Lourdes this offseason. e.g. Aledmys Diaz actually got 2/$14.
