  1. I've heard no rumours around Chris Archer all offseason. I wonder what is going on with him. He looked pretty awful last year. They only asked him to pitch twice through the order most nights and he still was not effective.
  2. do or die for Berrios today if he sucks, he could lose his rotation spot to one of the kids like Zack Thomas or Thompson Hatch
  3. The first guy who pitched was like a better version of Kikuchi.
  4. What is "big money"?
  5. Love dudes with 13 homer 7 steal projections Soooo good
  6. The Japanese pitching was so good. The US arms could not compare. Freeland and Merrill Kelly vs Darvish, Ohtani, and others who would be very good MLB pitchers. Or will be.
  7. Wait, Riley Greene? lol
  8. speculating
  9. It seems like Atlanta is disgusted by his defense. They must not want a defensive liability at SS given the shape of their team. If he's not the starting SS, there is really no other position for him on the roster. RIP Grissom buyers in fantasy. I'm guessing he will start getting some CF/LF reps in the minors as that looks like their weakest position on the MLB team.
  10. Can't believe you all let me grab Coors Profar hours after he signed
  11. With three starters who can handle CF they really don't even need a CF on the bench. They could instead use someone with more bat, like Horwitz or Barger, or someone with more utility like Lopez. Espinal (3B/SS/2B) Biggio (2B/1B/LF/RF) Lopez (everywhere) Jansen Merrifield is the ostensible starting 2B but also the 4th OF. He can probably also play CF in a pinch. Lukes is almost 29 and projects worse than Lopez or Horwitz with the stick. I don't really see how he functions for the team. Unless they are looking for a 4th bench player to just sit on the bench and rot and only play if Bo Bichette decides to sprint into left centre field and clothesline both Varsho and Kiermaier before giving Springer the People's Elbow off of the new elevated fan area in RF.
  12. I don't agree. I don't think Lopez is that type of player that you need to groom any further. He's basically a finished product so if he's the best fit he should be on the big team.
  13. It's just infinite cope from Americans because a bunch of their players don't go, and they don't dominate it every year like they would in international basketball. It is clear at this point that the WBC is VERY popular in Asia and Central America. Canadians are also whiny cope artists when it comes to the WBC, but take out the part about even expecting to be good.
  14. Cancel the WBC! lol
  15. Maybe this is the GM hinting to Votto that he SHOULD ask for a trade haha
  16. probably a couple words lost in transcription there "[for example] if we were out of it and he asked to be traded to Toronto..."
  17. lmao okay belt season ending injury, replace the next day with votto I guess
  18. Meh just leave it
  19. No, he signed in Japan recently. https://www.giants.jp/news/6746/ It says he signed a "training contract" I don't know what that means but perhaps it is like a two way deal?
  20. have honestly never heard of mason fluharty dumb last name though, wow
  21. just say that you were wrong and apologize to Tyler no need for this block of pure cope
  22. what the f*** are you trying to say? that's the dumbest thing anybody has ever written about baseball, ever. keep tyler o'neill's name out of your mouth. he is a +6 UZR/150 defender in his career with +9.2 BsR Teoscar is a minus 6 /150 defender and a negative baserunner in his career I would cut my dick off if Tyler O'Neill ever took a single play off
  23. He makes enough poor decisions on the field that you do legitimately start to question his attitude in some ways. Yeah, a number of balls off the wall that he admires. Consistently bad defense. Lazy defense. Bad defensive numbers despite good physical tools. Baserunning blunders. The guy has 84th percentile sprint speed, 87th percentile arm strength, and 95th percentile max exit velocity. By tools, he should be a five tool stud but because of "goofiness" or whatever you want to call it he's closer to a DH.
  24. Yeah Gurriel was a clown but he also just kind of sucks, since he's a statue in the outfield and too enigmatic/incomplete with the bat. Teoscar being moved was just a monetary efficiency thing, and part of a series of moves to build out a more well-rounded team. His horrible defense and bad baserunning decisions were getting stale. In both respects it was just a baseball team moving on from a ~30 year old corner outfielder getting near free agency... ... the murder of the Barrio might have been a side-effect. Maybe the organization saw that as a positive but it would not have been the point of the moves.
