  1. They absolutely should have sent Espinal down weeks ago
  2. This is the part of the game where the Toronto hitters start squeezing their bats too hard. It's freeze up and choke time
  3. Okay this is going to be a hilarious ump scorecard
  4. I would support 1 or 2 days of Vlad on the BENCH and Schneider at DH If anything, just to light a fire under Vlad's enormous ass...
  5. The prospect age vs. level stuff is rapidly changing. He's certainly NOT old but I dunno if he gets youth brownie points. He's at the point where most modern MLB teams just call the player up if they check all the boxes.
  6. Schneider has the "feel" of a 28 year old minor league journeyman but this motherf***er was born in 1999 There were 1999 birthdays being picked in the 2020 draft He's just a normal prospect, lol. Maybe a year behind the "norm".
  7. 8 games in AAA this year!
  8. Yes if anyone NEEDS a day off But it's also late August and the team is on the outside looking in so does anybody really get a day off for pure maintenance? Hopefully/probably not, if the team is being managed with urgency. So the uncomfortable fact remains. We NEED Schneider to get a run of playing time but unless someone is banged up then pencilling him in against RHP probably makes the team worse on paper or worse by projections. sigh.
  9. 30% K rate in AA is atrocious for any prospect Hiraldo is at best an up and down, AAAA player He probably also has almost no defensive utility.
  10. Not gonna go back and read the whole GDT but I hope everyone who hates Yimi Garcia was sucking his dick today
  11. The lineup against RHP: Merrifield 2B Bo SS Belt DH Vlad 1B Springer RF Varsho LF Chapman 3B Jansen/Kirk C Kiermaier CF Who can you bench to give Schnieder a run of starts against RHP? Chapman has been bad all August but was great in July. He has had a wildly streaky season but all things considered is just too good to bench. Kiermaier? Varsho to CF and then Scheider is in left?
  12. Not only did he have a perfect day at the plate but Espinal made a nearly game blowing error, again. There is just no way to get his bat in there against RHP. Kind of annoying. You almost want someone to get hurt as weird as that is to say
  13. That's the issue when owning star Blue Jays When they tank it hurts you twice
  14. lol you are going to miss the playoffs aren't you? It's all Vlad's fault.
  15. Wheels I guess
  16. So, the new outfield dimensions and the new construction may be one big thing going on. I know they tried to keep the changes mostly "neutral" with the wall coming in and out, up and down in various places. But things like closing off the way air flows into the tunnel might actually end up being a significant reduction in the HR park factor. I would say that we need to watch it for a few years to really know but they are making more changes this offseason and the reduction of foul territory should make a significant improvement for hitters so we will never really "know". But the 2023 statcast park factors for RC show a 98 park factor overall and a 92 for home runs.
  17. Yeah embracing new training methods can be part of it. If it can be improved then there is a skill component. It's like a SP ten years ago picking up weighted balls for the first time at 31 years old
  18. These elite players kind of have two legs to their careers. There is the pre-30 segment where they collect WAR based on pure physical talent. Then there is the 30-onward segment where they try to collect WAR with declining pure physical talent. So the ability to learn new skills, adapt, retain physical abilities, stay healthy, etc. matter so much. Guys like Derek Jeter are only HOFers because they were good in the second leg. Guys like Mookie can go from a HOFer to a legend by being good in the second leg...
  19. Oh man he would probably get destroyed in the big leagues right now Definitely needs another offseason / spring / partial AAA season of work
  20. Cleveland can pitch and Washington is a quality underdog The Blue Jays will get thoroughly dominated by Bibee, Syndergaard, and Josiah Gray and go 3-3 over the next 6 games. Vlad will have 8 groundball singles, a caught stealing, and one HR which will happen in the 8th inning of a 10-2 drumming of Logan T. Allen.
  21. 13 pitches and 6 outs lmfao This team has the worst offensive approach I have ever seen.
  22. Playoff race is down to the wire and the boys are getting DEVOURED by mid as f*** arms like Don Creamer Bobby Kennedy We CANNOT let Lyle Gibson do it to us too!
  23. He means in terms of prospect talent. The pitching rosters in AAA are generally pretty s*****. A sprinkling of actual prospects but for the most part it is older arms or fringe "prospects" who are 25/26 years old
  24. nah the only thing worse than not regularly playing him would be to not have him on the team at all
