    Refined his stuff. 117 Stuff+ in 2023 (109 sinker, 141! slider) vs 108 Stuff+ in 2022 with just 82 on the slider. And similar in 2021. Also, refined his command. 103 Location+ this year is a full standard deviation above average (i.e. 60 grade command). So he is 60 FB, 60 Command, 60+ slider. He's a weapon. This might be a pitching lab win.... He looks boring because it's still 75% sinkers

    command is a big part of it too in 2022 he was like, 50 FB 60 SL 50 command in 2023 he is more like 40 FB 40 SL 30 command 50/50/50 is a recipe for a backend SP 50/60/40 might also be. or a recipe for a good RP.

    Well in terms of stuff 91 stuff+ and 95 location+ in 2023 vs 99 and 99 last year. That's a massive decline. He lost something like one+ standard deviation in both STUFF and COMMAND over the offseason. His velo is down a notable amount (52nd percentile to 40th) His slider lost 2.4 inches of horizontal movement vs average. His command went from basically average to bottom of the barrel bad. I think one SD on Location+ is only like 2-3 ticks so 95 is not viable for most pitchers. Even relievers like Richards and Swanson have 97+ on that metric. Nate Pearson who has absolutely no idea where anything is going has a 95. So, Fat Alek has reliever command with fringe SP stuff. Not good.

    This is probably true. We have seen numerous teams go from worst to great in the LOD and that's a way tougher league. I took Boston from last to #1. Danger took Gibbers' mess from nearly last to one of the best teams. Lots of owners in the DDL are just paralyzed. They don't know what to do, I think.
