  1. "more flawed than most playoff teams" is a blatant lie and obvious trolling
  2. Manoah vs Carbohydrates
  3. Pen and rotation set up beautifully for next year Just need an SP5, really. That could be Francis or Teidemann though The off-season will be very focused at signing or trading for a couple of bats
  4. Lmao You're a joke bud
  5. Definitely skip him if they don't need to win to get in
  6. Nah If Texas clinches the division before the final series that means Houston has fallen off the table. Which means Toronto would be comfy Very likely the teams all have something to play for until the last day or second to last day
  7. The "order" in the west is not relevant The teams tied for first in the west do the tiebreaker flowchart Then any teams tied for a WC spot do the tiebreaker flowchart
  8. Yeah he's a hack Big minor league broadcasting vibes
  9. Like, you HAVE to drop one? Both are fringe keepers but I prefer Stanton Conforto's projections are mediocre enough at this point to not even care about the age difference
  10. Love Kikuchi but he's the #4. The team isn't going to give him the ball over Bassitt. They MIGHT have him available in a WC game 3 if Bassitt can't go long. How does the Jays rotation currently line up for the last series? Hopefully they clinch before the last game and can sort of set up the rotation
  11. I was just going to say Is it mathematically possible for Texas, Houston, and Seattle to end up tied for the division and then one of them misses the playoffs entirely on double tie breaker??
  12. I don't think you have a proper appreciation for his peer group at the position 3B includes big uglies like Devers, Riley, Eugenio Suarez, Candelario, JD Davis, Isaac Paredes, 38 year old DJLM, Max f***ing Muncy, Jake Burger lmao, Alec Bohm lmffffffao, the positionless Spencer Steer, Jose Miranda, Patrick Wisdom, 42 year old Evan Longoria, Mike Moustakas who is still in baseball for some reason, Gio Urshela the one that got away Chapman clearly belongs in the upper 10 or whatever with guys like Machado, McMahon, Arenado. None of these guys touch Ke'Bryan Hayes though. He's the new gold standard.
  13. No I mean what is your test What are you measuring him against What are you saying he is NOT???
  14. What a great win. Big for the morale!
  15. Chapman was a much more impressive defender before coming to Toronto. Now he's very good, but not "elite" anymore. Like, his UZR is #4 in the league which is great but it's a full win worse than his prime.
  16. Ah yes brilliant idea with Merrifield and Espinal in there Good contact boys
  17. Merrifield should be on the pine with Espinal. Just throw your best bats out there. Horwitz 1B, Biggio in a corner, Schneider 2B. for f***s sake gentlemen it's not that complicated Merrifield and Espinal will go 0-8 with no hard contact, I bet my balls
  18. There is literally no argument for playing Espinal over Schneider. Like, Schneider would need a broken leg for that to make sense. Schneide vs "power" pitchers: .308/.400/.808 (small sample size! lul) Espinal vs "power" pitchers: .262/.329/.367
  19. This is disgusting. Why the f*** is Espinal in there against Glasnow? KK not 100%!?
  20. I'm thinking low cost veteran. They have Schneider and Biggio and Orelvis/Barger/Clement/Palmegiani. I am thinking they line up with some veteran at 3B and Schneider at 2B, with Biggio being a possible platoon partner for both if they don't hit. If Biggio performs he could steal a starting role at either spot. Then Orelvis/Barger/Palmegiani as MiLB infield depth. I'd prefer if Espinal is just thought of as a backup SS and nothing more... These guys are ugly options but as a one year stop gap on the cheap, maybe they would be fine (2023 WAR): Brian Anderson (0.5), Giovanny Urshela (0.4), Evan Longoria (0), Donaldson (0.2), Tim Anderson (-0.4), IKF (0.3), Amed Rosario (0.2), Brandon Crawford (0.6), Donovan Solano (1.1) I mean there is nothing in free agency so the only other option is a trade. There are few trade options though, if you think realistic and only focus on minor moves like 2025 free agents. Brandon Drury? He's a good f***ing target tbh.
  21. Not enough people know about Wyatt Langford and Junior Caminero. They could very well be the #2 and #3 prospects in baseball right now.
  22. Rays promote Junior Caminero lmao This kid is a monster. He is going to destroy the Jays in these 6 games if he gets any playing time.
  23. The most Shatkins era Jays thing would definitely involve missing the playoffs. It probably looks like this: - Losing streak right now, hope is lost - Mini win streak into final day, hope is back - Lose on final day of season to end up tied with SEA/TEX and miss the playoffs on a tie breaker - In final game, Yimi Garcia gives up 2 runs in the 6th inning - In final game, Vlad bounces into a clutch double play - In final game, some extremely mediocre RHP absolutely carves the Jays and makes them look like a AAA team
