  1. somewhere between 4/80 and 4/100 guess for Chapman could be shocking in either direction though! 3/60 or 5/130 in play hahaha
  2. Yeah Moncado is worth a 2024 gamble but CHW has to eat like half the money.
  3. Oh no, people are trying to buy the Orioles from the Angelos family That's not good news. Dumb ownership was perhaps our only line of defense against the current waves of amazing Orioles prospects.
  4. absolutely they COULD offer those guys a starting job, anywhere on the diamond, and they will sign in a minute. the question is whether or not Toronto SHOULD because they might suck I have both of them in the Plan Q, end of the offseason bucket
  5. If they could somehow pull Ohtani and Yamamoto.... You probably just dump Manoah to fill one of the holes and then cheap out at the other positions.
  6. I am kind of shocked that the Reds went for Candelario. They have so many infielders already. He is going to be a 1B/DH for them. And he had leverage as the #2 third baseman on the market. Now everybody knows they like, HAVE to trade India.
  7. Relax, dork
  8. Yeah when I saw the Kimbrel-Os news I was pretty happy. $13M is a lot for them and they are using it on a guy who is volatile and liable to s*** the bed.
  9. BREAKING: Yankees close to not signing Shohei Ohtani
  10. I guess the plan for 2024 is force Judge to play CF so he gets hurt as soon as possible? I could still see Verdugo as part of the Soto trade, though. He has little value but helps SDP. Soto + Grisham for Verdugo + King + Thorpe ++
  11. Yanks got pillaged in the R5 draft, losing 3 upper minors RP prospects. They all showed up on deep top prospect lists; Matt Sauer was 25 on MLB.com's NYY top 30 and Caron Coleman was on the Fangraphs NYY prospect list in March.
  12. They are trying to win now still and Michael King might be an SP2 or SP3. Might be exactly what they want. They could trade Soto and still make the playoffs, conceivably. It's not necessarily a rebuild style trade where they just want the 3 best prospects
  13. Until last week nobody thought Toronto even had a puncher's chance at Ohtani And a Soto trade was almost a long shot given the pure number of teams who would bid
  14. King+ is a coup for the Padres but only if King stays healthy. That's a big question mark and that is baked into his trade value.
  15. Would make sense He's not worth much but the Padres are still trying to win
  16. Not much else that moves the needle, man Kendry Rojas, Connor Cooke, Barriera, Chad Dallas, Zulueta, Macko, Juenger, Dahian Santos, Landen Maroudis, Juaron Watts-Brown. I doubt they care about players like this unless they are the 4th piece.
  17. I am so bored Please pretty please, some big news this evening I don't care what it is or what team it is
  18. "After droves of secrecy and anonymous reporting about secret meetings between Shohei Ohtani and various suitors, Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts refreshingly came right out and told reporters that his club recently hosted Ohtani for a visit at Dodgers Stadium (link via Jack Harris of the L.A. Times). Roberts added that Ohtani is “clearly our top priority.” Asked why he was so direct when other clubs have gone to great measures to conceal their efforts to negotiate with Ohtani, Roberts replied (via MLB.com’s Anthony Castrovince): “I don’t feel like lying is something I do. I was asked a question. … It’s going to come out at some point.” Imagine if this insulted Ohtani so he stopped talking to the Dodgers
  19. s***** MLB level prospects or young players: Austin Wells, Everson Periera, Estavan Florial, Oswald Peraza, Oswaldo Cabrera. I doubt any of those bats profile as first division starters, but some team might value them while they are cheap. King and Schmidt. Several controllable RP with value. Trey Sweeney, Roderick Arias, Spencer Jones. Handful of prospect arms like Thorpe, Gil, Yoendrys Gomez, Will Warren.
  20. lmao what does it mean to be "way ahead of the pack" on a free agent? are you outbidding yourself or something? proud to be overpaying? okay
  21. okay but that's because NBA free agency happens in like 2 days there isn't even time to speculate
  22. Sleepy start to the winter meetings Feels like everyone is waiting on Ohtani?
