Raps and Knicks both flourishing after the trade Knicks people f***ing love OG
  3. IMO it is weird people were even expecting them to sign similar deals. Soler has had one great year, one okay year (2023) and then a bunch of useless seasons. He had to hit 36 homers to be a league average player in 2023 because everything else is so bad. Teoscar has 70% more career WAR in 60 less games. Since he became established, he has never been bad. His "disappointing" 2023 was as valuable as Soler's "strong" platform 2023. If nobody was offering Hernandez a good enough long-term deal for him to even consider, then Soler's market might be ugly. I am looking forward to him signing an incentive laden 1 year deal with Toronto. Maybe a cute little 2 year deal with little risk. Some team options for fun. Now, Hernandez is simply so much better that he can reasonably try to have an elite 2024 and then get a Castellanos contract. Soler would be a fool to do that and should take the most guaranteed money he is offered.
  4. It's amazing for HR. Lots don't realize this but it's like top 3. Close to neutral overall but fantastic for Hernandez. Statcast 3 year rolling park factors for right handed homers.... tied #1 with GAB
  5. If you have an issue with the Dodgers deferring payments... ... It really has nothing to do with the luxury tax. The issue is more like, preferential systems for certain owners. They are owned by a hedge fund. No other team can really do this at this scale. There is something going on with how the dodgers are selling these deferred payments to these players ..
  6. They are being taxed appropriately $1M that you have to wait 6 years to get is simply not worth $1M today. Kind of common sense, bro
  7. Guessing he had some 3 year offers but chose to bet on himself He's young enough that one big year could = massive contract And he picked the best team possible. Good hitters park, he could win the world series and have 140 RBI haha
  8. Joc is much worse than Teo so hopefully this sets the market for Pederson signing here for like 1/$12 or 2/$20
  9. How exactly are they dodging the luxury tax here, max?
  10. Amazing deal for LA. The pillow deal people wanted him to sign here. Dodgers To Sign Teoscar Hernandez January 7th, 2024 at 8:47pm CST • By Mark Polishuk The Dodgers have agreed to a one-year, $23.5MM deal with outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan (X links). Only $15MM of that salary will be paid to Hernandez this year, as the rest is deferred and will be paid out in installments from 2030-39. Reporter Moises Fabian (via X) was first with the news that Hernandez had signed with Los Angeles. Hernandez is represented by Republik Sports.
  11. The "database error" has been happening intermittently for months There is also a double posting glitch that happens from time to time
  12. That's what they want but they won't get it My guess for Chapman is 4/$80m. He'd be lucky to get $100m Bellinger, maybe he does get $150m
  13. But will cost maybe twice as much
  14. Before the season people thought the outfield changes might increase offense because fences were coming in Shapiro was on record saying they weren't sure how it would play since fences were going up, down, in, out, all over. Keep in mind that the infield changes this off-season will significantly decrease the space in foul territory. That might increase offense significantly
  15. Well... duh! Brantley and Biggio probably do have very similar eyes, though. Biggio just has the higher walk rate because he has to be patient or else he sucks. Brantley was such a good hitter he didn't have to do that.
  16. Biggio is a 40 on a good day Brantley is an easy 70. Might be more
  17. Well, they're not gonna give him away. He's worth an Addison Barger type prospect Might see them move Kyle Farmer for peanuts instead
  18. Check your 1994 census You might be this kids grandpa!
  19. Sounds like the mom was a hooker And mom trafficked the minor And Franco came along and knew exactly what he was doing from the start. Knew it was wrong, admitted same in writing, even had mom sign an NDA or something. And this is just one of the complaints...
  20. Get ownership from ju1ced I guess And then upgrade the servers or whatever. And remove ads. Not sure if he would transfer ownership/control but I don't think he makes money on the thing so maybe he would.
  21. loving the IKF signing more and more each day wow, what a spectacular defender
  22. "He received some interest from the Blue Jays this winter but it appears he will hang up his spikes instead." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
  23. Michael Brantley's choices were retire or play for Toronto. He chose to retire. Says a lot about ROSS if we are being honest.
  24. Yeah exactly Whoever was pounding the table for Ernie Clement last March probably got a lot of brownie points
  25. Getting interesting players signed is probably a numbers game. I bet it is something like this: - the nerds put together preference lists... e.g. here are 15 catchers who may sign an MiLB deal, ranked by how good we think they are - Atkins has some involvement because professional and agent relationships are involved but a good chunk of the negotiations or calls are left to perhaps the AGMs But these can have big implications so definitely not just dismissed to some kid
