  1. That they would sign for 1/$20 is pretty nuts That Toronto would need to clear $6M to make that happen is also kind of nuts
  2. Yeah. Hard to say anything after 182 innings but the metrics are okay. Average sprint speed, average range, OAA/DRS/UZR all positive. He never looked bad there, really. His arm strength is pressed through. Statcast says 10th percentile. That's near the low range of acceptable 2B arm strength but some 2B make it work and still play as average or better defenders.
  3. Jesus, the system actually looks really deep when you read that BA top 30 and look at the overall BA Grades and the projected role descriptions.
  4. Looks good He will be the best #5 in baseball!
  5. But 2020 was also a tiny draft
  6. Can you explain the "2020 led roster crunch" part?
  7. Hoskins and Soler are comparable. Soler is 1 year older Soler is coming off a good, healthy year Hoskins has a more consistent track record and better plate approach Projections comparable Major difference is that Hoskins WANTS that opt out after 1 year, Soler probably is more concerned about maximizing total contract value But I feel like this should set an AAV ceiling on Soler
  8. tbh he does look to be in slightly better shape
  9. Didn't expect Helton or Mauer first ballot

I guess the think he did can't be... that bad
  11. Every single pitcher on the LAD depth chart, 1 through like #14, is better than Alek Manoah
  12. Yamamoto Glasnow Buehler Paxton Miller (has options) Yarbrough May (has options, hurt) Sheehan Grove Stone Frasso Landon Knack, Kyle Hurt, River Ryan, Maddux Bruns It would seem a bit excessive to sign Kershaw and plan on optioning Miller. But he is Clayton Kershaw.... right and he's hurt.
  13. He should get a bit more than those guys. Might get a small raise on his 2023 salary?
  14. Gallo to Washington $5M plus $1M in performance bonuses Kind of sets the floor if you want an idea of what guys like Donaldson, Longo, Anderson, Winker, etc. should cost
  15. he will almost certainly never get an MLB job again, even if he dodges prison somehow
  16. because they are idiots and their opinions are being shaped by the timing of when Garcia gave up runs. I believe he had some key blown saves in 2023, or some bad stretches both at the start of the year and in September.
  17. If you can't keep it civil you catch a ban. Warning for deanmike and max silver here. I think both crossed the line.
  18. Going to change the draft timelines a bit as it might attract a few more owners. This is the new plan: Once we get to 12+ owners we will close the league and begin the draft. Currently there are 10 owners. We can take up to 20 though. The draft will start "soon" as an offline draft but it will have massive 20 hour windows, so there is no pressure. Then later in February or first week of March if the draft is still going we will drop windows to 1 hour just to get it done. So, this will be a super chill slow offline draft. Lots of time to do research and whatnot.
  19. But they just reacquired Tyler Nevin so
  20. Kind of like where the Pirates are going. Good young position players at like 5 positions. Keller, Priester, Skenes, Jared Jones... Solometo, Chandler and of course Termarr Johnson close. They could surprise.
  21. Unironically, Garcia and Espinal are both worth as much or more than Eloy It is just a question of whether or not Eloy is even worth his guaranteed $16M, basically I think the trade would be more like Otto Lopez for Eloy But if you can get a DH from the FA pile for closer to $10M, might not be any point
  22. Yeah it seems optimistic. On the other side, he remains young and his injuries have all been random, unconnected things.
