    Their SP quality and depth is good enough to compete in that division. Their lineup could be if Keith and Meadows are immediately good, and if Greene/Torkelson/Carpenter all maintain from 2023. Pen is meh but that doesn't matter much.

Heaters the kid could barely touch, WOW!

    Really interesting article The gifs help. The 2023 swing is like a classic golf problem, where your backswing and downswing are not on the same plane and you therefore have a slice or hook problem. Varsho also had a mishit problem in 2023, which probably manifested in too many pop ups and other kinds of meek contact. Seems like his 2024 spring training swing is definitely on the "same plane". Whether that flatter swing path is beneficial remains to be seen. But at the least it might lead to more consistent kinds of contact.

It's insane. It's like taking a 26 year old Guardians SP draft pick and coaching up his velocity. How can it even happen. It's their specialty?

    He can spin the breaking ball and the fastball has good shape, just not enough velo. Close though. 92.7 mph 17.5 IVB Slider is 81.4 with 2400 rpm To put this in perspective, he's already better than Manoah
