The Blue Jays have already gotten something like $3-4 million dollars in hypothetical value from Colabello. The trick will be to cut ties with him at the right time, so that he doesn't give that all back with a slump before getting DFA'd/demoted/traded/euthanized. IIRC Juan Francisco was well over 1 fWAR at one point last year, but ended up at 0.8. He's the cautionary tale. Month / PA / wOBA Apr / 41 / .376 May / 85 / .432 Jun / 69 / .259 Jul / 69 / .367 Aug / 51 / .182 1st half: .359 2nd half: .251 With Colabello's extremely negative defensive value and PD stats, he could give back his 0.4 fWAR in like, one week of s***** play. Pretty good. He's a high leverage reliever with SP eligibility. It's always nice to expand the pen at some point in the season. 5 holds and a save since June 7th.

Definitely a throw-away at this point. Ugh, what a debauchery. I still think he has fantasy relevant talent but he's stopped getting consistent playing time in Baltimore so I couldn't hold any longer. Mike Fiers (FA pickup) --> traded for Fowler --> traded for Pearce --> traded for nothing In the end, nothing became nothing. Should have kept Fiers though.

That explains a lot. Hard to fault the Bruins for not wanting to pay him 7.5M per year. Still, get a f***ing useful player back for someone like Hamilton.

Pick your favourites! These are just the obvious ones, approaching FA on teams that could be out of it.

I'd probably put a #3/4 ceiling on Sanchez tbh. If he sticks in a rotation at all then it's a positive outcome. Boyd might have a realistic ceiling = to Sanchez, actually.

92 touching 95. It did seem flat. He'll have to hit his spots. Didn't seem to really sink it or cut it ever, which Happ does do.

I think they should really hold on to Boyd. The Donaldson trade (and others) have removed a lot of the young SP depth from Toronto's system. You can only dip into the same well so many times.... With Buehrle and Dickey expiring soon, if you move Sanchez and Boyd for a one year SP, the 2016 depth chart will look pretty gross/thin

Any rebuilding team want Steve Pearce for like, a 2nd rounder? I'm ready to cut my losses, Allen Craig style. Still projects for a 115 wRC+ and is now 2B eligible, so probably a nice buy low.
