  1. Bassitt is a better fit, you know he could at least give you semi-competitive innings when needed. Either from the rotation or the pen. I’d much rather have Bassit as depth over Scherzer
  2. I’d be fine with Scherzer back for like… 8mil or less? But only as long as he isn’t taking a spot away from any of the current 6 starters. Dude is washed, could be decent depth and a mentor to have around but he shouldn’t be guaranteed a spot anywhere.
  3. Vlad playing 3B on this team with Freeman at DH would’ve been tight AF
  4. That is not the argument anyone was making though. But actually that would be a decent bet on who will be a better bat next season…
  5. Should punt Hoffman too while we’re at it
  6. Another L for the Lolrioles
  7. No i got all the bobbleheads last year from the dome. Worked 5mins walking distance, sometimes would just grab a cheap $20 ticket at 4pm and go walk over after work.
  8. This is such a strawman its not even worth engaging
  9. Honestly idk anymore. That Springer bobblehead SHOULD be a hot item, but last April they had a Vlad bobblehead giveaway and it was dead. Weather plays a factor for sure. I was able to get all the bobbleheads last year pretty easily
  10. Ok… but every front office does. That’s why the context of age matters when comparing deals.
  11. Yeah that’s Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing ********. Its like surge pricing with Uber, based on demand.
  12. Yankees 4th lol wow. This division man…
  13. Which is exactly why this FO prioritized him over those guys. Plus he’s a switch hitter which is nice
  14. Yep and they wanted to spend more too, offered 300+ to Tucker
  15. Also gotta look at the market this offseason. LOTS of guys taking 1yr deals or deals with opt outs after year 1/2. Probably has to do with the CBA uncertainty.
  16. Yeah good comp, Teo/Santander/Suarez are all pretty similar with the bat.
  17. Thanks for the reminder i will spend some time tomorrow
  18. 4 years younger if you factor WHEN Santander was signed too. Im a big Suarez fan, but he’s getting up there in age and there’s been questions about the defense lately. Suarez got slightly underpaid and Santander slightly overpaid. Its not that shocking
  19. 30 yrs old vs 34, are you restarted my dude?
  20. Shouldn’t be too hard to find a corner OF platoon bat at the deadline if needed, to platoon with Davis/Lukes/Loperfido/Barger/Okamoto/whoever is hot.
  21. That seems like a great deal for the A’s. Getting some tidy extensions done with solid players.
  22. Im pumped for the WBC, should be a great precursor to the season
  23. Lol what a crazy statement
  24. No? After the big 54 homer season, Jays signed Bautista for 5/65 or something, which was a risk at the time since he had exactly 1 good year. Turned out to be an absolute steal, then in 2016 there were negotiations and Bautista wanted 100m+ and the jays did not give it to him.
  25. Huh? How did the Jays do this with Jbats? If anything, they DIDNT do this and it saved them from paying big dollars after his decline
