I don’t see us getting a full-time DH with the way the roster is constructed. But anyways im done discussing that. Turning to another discussion, who here thinks Santander should be playing RF with Springer in LF?? Santander has the better arm and Springer is the better fielder, seems to make perfect sense

Ok but the point still stands, where does JDM fit on this team? I could have seen it before the Santander signing but not now.

How? where would he play? Santander as an everyday OF? not sure about that. Also gives you 0 flexibility with Vlad/Bo/Kirk in the DH role

I don’t think that’s the case, from all reports Jays have had the highest offer on the table for a while. He clearly went back to the Mets and took a lesser deal. Maybe the Jays weren’t offering an opt-out after year 1, or maybe he just had 0 interest in actually coming to Toronto.

Incomplete is a great way to put it. Feels like the lineup is still a bit flat, similar to last season.

Plz can we just have a good thing here. Adding a pretty bankable 70+ homers to the lineup this offseason would be amazing for the team.

I don’t see our front office being worse than any of those teams besides the Dodgers.

The perception that this offseason is just ok is 100% due to coming 2nd for Soto and Sasaki. We brought in Gimenez, Santander, Hoffman, and Scherzer. That’s already a pretty great offseason, and with 1 more addition (which is likely) its an excellent one.

Exactly what i was thinking lol. I don’t understand the dudes that come here and comment just to complain about nothing. Imagine complaining that the team is spending too much money. Wasn’t the big complaint in the early 2010s was that ownership was cheap? Can we just be happy the team is rolling out a top 5 payroll?? Like jesus people

He’ll be a perfectly solid 4/5 starter at worst (if healthy) and that’s really what we needed so everything else is gravy. People tend to overlook the intangibles, and yes I think having future HoF guy on the staff can only help.

I don’t think Scherzer is in that boat quite yet. Only thing holding him back is injuries, but he’s still proven to be useful when healthy.
