    I would be very pleased if we could get him for 1 year, 3/4 million with a team option. Allows us a stopgap at 2B while Travis develops, and if Toritani ends up being good then we can pick up the option. Win win imo.

    Hmm. Well this kinda sucks. I really wanted Lowrie, but I guess he was a bit out of our price range. I would rather improve our bullpen and rotation.

    In terms of talent added, I think Boston has us beat this offseason. They added 2 great hitters and 3 pretty solid starters. Also Castillo (not an offseason signing though) Now, when you factor contracts and value and stuff, it's undeniable that the Jays have had the best offseason so far.

    I disagree... Redsox have done better IMO. They added Castillo, Sandoval, Hanley, Miley, Masterson, and Porcello. Thats alot of great players.

    Yeah I don't understand how they think that they have a good lineup. We could subtract Bautista and we'd still have a better lineup than them.

    Yeah I think the incentives would be more like 150 innings pitched, 26 games started.

    Yes. Im sure alot of people here fear that we'll be saddled with another dunce of a president. But nobody could possibly be worse than Beeston.

    Yeah it's pretty funny to see all the guys on MLB network talk about how the Whitesox will be competing for the division title. I just don't see it.

    Almost every homerun video i've watched of Smoak ended with the baseball deep in the outfield seats. I'm not looking at advanced stats, just going by eye. I could be wrong but he looks like he has crazy power.

    Trade Reyes, frees up 22million. Sign Toritani for about 4million per and Lowrie for about 12 per. That leaves us with 6 million to work with. Thats my general idea. Its all just hypothetical obviously. In the end we'd probably end up with a similar WAR total, and if thats the case I guess trading Reyes doesn't really make sense. You're right. Its just that its pretty ugly to see Reyes' getting paid 22 million a year for the next 3 seasons. We're probably stuck with him, not that its a terrible thing. Dude just needs to stay healthy

    Well obviously if we trade Reyes and they don't replace that WAR, then its a dumb trade. The idea is that trading Reyes allows you to bring in more WAR due to the $ savings.

    Just create a new account and continue posting here. Just try to keep an open mind when people are trying to explain why certain players are better than others.

    Seattle isn't THAT dumb. Ian Desmond is way better than Reyes and way cheaper.

    I would happily make that trade IF we could sign 2 middle infielders to man SS and 2B. Im just kinda tired of Reyes and his god-awful defense

    Trade Reyes, sign Lowrie and Toritani. Toritani plays SS and Lowrie 2B. Plus you have some extra leftover money that you save from Reyes.

    I would love to trade Reyes. I like the idea of trading away Reyes and then signing BOTH Toritani and Lowrie. It would really shore up the infield defense, and I don't think we'd miss Reyes' bat.

    I would be very happy with Asdrubal at 2B EDIT: after looking up his stats... Im not so sold anymore. He hasn't been good offensively since 2012
