1. It also turns FOs into HRs.
2. FAP guesstimates run from $68M (way too low) to nearly $150M. The average is probably like 6 years, $135M.
3. 10 & 5 10 & 5 10 & 5 10 & 5 10 & 5 10 & 5
4. Nothing about this signing would make any sense whatsoever. He wouldn't even remotely fit into our remaining budget ($5-7M). Even if you trade Revere, this requires a budget increase.
5. The only thing is, if we were to sign Davis, $4M to Smoak seems like a terrible waste. The possibility of four 40 HR bats in our lineup tho? I can fap to this.
6. ... k, but over the last 3 seasons he has a .378 wOBA and has averaged 42 HR.
7. ~$155M commited to 9 players seems pretty reasonable. Do it up. 2017 Payroll

Tulowitzki $20,000,000

Martin $20,000,000

Estrada $14,500,000

Happ $13,000,000

Donaldson $15,000,000

Heyward $22,000,000

Chapman $16,000,000

Bautista $17,000,000

Encarnacion $17,000,000

$154,500,000

8. I've been in favour of offering them both twin extensions at like 3/$45M (2017-19), but it's hard to see how that would get it done at this point.
9. Bautista is pretty close to being a DH anyway, tough decisions will need to be made.
10. Yep. Throw saves and holds into the garbage can where they belong and use Chapman for a bunch of 2 inning appearances = huge profit.
11. Yep. Throw saves and holds into the garbage can where they belong and use Chapman for a bunch of 2 inning appearances = huge profit.
12. Why would you even think this is a consideration? He's in his walk year and the most they'd get out of him is 100 IP as a starter. He's a reliever for good, that ship sailed years ago. Chapman doesn't even WANT to be a starter.
13. Wow, if they get Chapman without giving up JDL -- and obviously Urias and Seager are not involved -- then that would be a huge get.
14. Wowwwwwwwwww. De Leon has to be one of the prospects, right? Chapman-Jansen is just disgusting on so many levels.
15. Who cares? Dickey, Bautista and EE are all off the books after this year. Their declines (specifically Dickey) will no longer be our problem.
16. One of the few players in baseball for whom it would be reasonable to ask for that package.
17. All our old (33+) players are really good, though.
18. I don't think most fans expect much at all, actually.
19. How so? It's projecting improvement for him.
20. The people I hear say "indian" the most are actually aboriginals. I never hear educated white people say that word in reference to aborginal Canadians.
21. Do we even know that all 30 front offices use WAR in their contract decision-making processes? I'm not sure that's true. It's entirely conceivable that the Tigers don't care about WARZ at all and just want those innings eaten.
22. Lol what is Steve Simmons' problem?
23. I went with 1/$3M but mostly as a joke. I definitely didn't think he was getting more than 1 year.
24. You really thought he would get 3 years? I wasn't even convinced he would get an MLB deal.
25. That's no coincidence. ;;;;;;
