  1. Best case scenario for him as a 1B is like Adam Lind.
  2. What's a tab? I use Netscape Navigator.
  3. Conversely, there's no logical reason why a career infielder should ever be that bad playing LF. Hanley is a lazy sack of s***, I think it really does come down to that.
  4. Why are you replying to yourself? Did you forget to switch back over the the pane with your BTS account?
  5. Shoulder injuries are pretty much the worst injuries you can get as a baseball player. They can take years to heal properly and re-strengthen. Not only that, Hanley isn't even an elite hitter. Going back to 2011, his wRC+ is 120. His 2013 season is the biggest outlier, not 2015. Plus he's 32 and sorta fat for a baseball player. IMO most of his historic fantasy value was predicated on (1) SS eligibility, obviously, and (2) having a power/speed combo with an elite batting average. Well the speed is gone, the SS eligibility is gone, and he's batted .260 or less in 3 of the last 5 seasons.
  6. I wouldn't. Hanley is super uninteresting as a OF or potentially a 1B. The steals are gone and the walk rate collapsed. He'll probably max out at 25 HR and his line lives and dies by BABIP. Plus I really can't stand how his helmet flies off after 30% of his swings.
  7. Hahahah you couldn't have dumped Hanley at a better time, too.
  8. Over, because I think he isn't a pen arm. I think he could have a Joe Blantonesque career.
  9. No s***.
  10. Basically, I think Pillar overachieved on rangy plays last year, and I think his arm is average-to-below average. I'd be happy with a 2 WAR season from him next year.
  11. No. I don't like baseball.
  12. Rasmus was +15 UZR/150 in 2013 and -15 in 2014, then +15 again this year. I'm not yet convinced that Pillar will be a consistently elite defender.
  13. I prefer the "defense fluctuates a lot" argument; he could end up being replacement level next year very easily.
  14. I've been saying that since long before that trade.
  15. Colby Rasmus had a 5.1 WAR season for us as a 26 year old. Then he had a 1 WAR season.
  16. I doubt it. He doesn't have much of a sense of humour about these things, he tends to just get defensive and lash out.
  17. I've decided I no longer care about the distant future; I want the Jays to re-sign him.
  18. It's extremely annoying how quickly Syndergaard became a Top 20 (Top 10?) pitcher in baseball.
  19. That would be a dream. If he's somewhere between Iwakuma and Tanaka, he's worth a lot.
  20. Maybe he felt sore because he played too many back to back games, or made an unusual number of tough plays. Or maybe he felt sore because he knew was going to play on turf, and so he convinced himself mentally that it was going to be harder on his body. I don't understand why they can't put a layer of padding under the turf if it really is so painful to dive on.
  21. Oh I see. Well grounders definitely looked a lot slower on the most recent turf. I doubt anybody can or will bother to quantify this, but you would probably hypothesize that such an effect would benefit strong arm/average range guys, whereas a faster turf would benefit average arm/strong range guys. I know Tulo is still a strong defender at short, but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't bug me how often he chooses to throw on the run. But, as long as it works...
  22. I'm so bored of this topic, it's all anecdotal. There's no way to prove it causes more or less injury than grass, or previous turf, or playing on hot coals. What's indisputable is that there is a perception that it causes injury among players.
  23. Trading Syndergaard and Glasnow for Longoria is probably the most obvious culprit of this. He also traded everything under the sun for Stanton.
  24. I probably shouldn't bank on snagging two closers in the draft again, that seems unlikely. Either way though, my pen should be solid. I would rather dump an RP into the waiver draft where he becomes a free-for-all rather than give a sweetheart deal to a potential opponent.
