I get what you are saying. It seems your position is 100% the prevailing notion of all of the baseball minds I listen to to try and form an opinion about matters (Buck, John Shannon and Roger Lajoie)... but it just seems it's not computing with what I'm seeing on the field. Yes, most of his hits are tiny, s***** little hits, but he's still getting on base. Maybe it's something about how he fits in this lineup. Is power less of a thing when you have 3 of the best power hitters right in a row all up right after you? How much does it help said 3 power hitters when such a pesky speed threat is on base so much... even if only first base. We know batting average goes up with a runner on, does it go up further when the runner is a threat to run? I don't know. But I like what I am seeing.
