    BTW. We are approaching the 2 year anniversary of the "Can Ryan Goins Stick?" thread. I get a little chocked up even thinking about it. It was my baby. I am so proud that the question is still relevant almost 2 years later. I'm hoping the mods can open the thread for the anniversary just to post in it for the day.

    I honestly don't think he did. Sanchez cannot afford to walk anyone. He's always on the verge of unraveling.

    I was thinking you could offer him a Stanton type deal where you hope he opts out at a certain point, but he's too old for that to work. Maybe if you front loaded it big time. Like 40 million a year for the 1st 2 years then 20 million for the next 6, letting him opt out after year 3 or something... But that is a historically expensive pitcher.

    No. That's how you look at it. We over payed for Price... That's the only way you get David Price. Let Norris go on and have a great career... it's fine.

    Roemon Fields would have to come up right? Is there another speedster? Maybe even Anthony Alford, for late inning speed? I just imagine guys like Smoak, EE or Colobello getting on base in the 9th and having to replace them in order to avoid DP's or get into scoring position. Andy Burn is another guy I could see up.

    It's just sooo much money. Then you have to deal with the 3 or 4 years after that where he is making 25 million a year and pitching like a #5.

    I think there is a chance MB is back in the rotation next year. He's not going to be in the league for much longer, so it's not like he going to reject the offer and have another team sign him for 1 or 2 years, where said team has to lose a draft pick. Not many teams will be lining up for that deal. He might just look at the team, think it might be stacked offensively and stick around. So here is how I see the rotation.     I can't see Samardzija wanting to come here. He made it known last year he was relieved not to be traded to Toronto.
