    People are calling Jays talk shows and the talking heads on the fan are talking about it too. They are all asking what happens next year when Travis comes back. My god it's not even a conversation. Travis still has much better potential then Goins. Goins, hopefully will be on the bench... and will still probably play a lot.

    No I'm not being sarcastic at all. I really think he's the best Jays defensive 2nd baseman I have ever seen. I mean over all he probably doesn't crack the top 10. But pure defense, he's the best I've seen. Overall, this is the best Jays defensive infield I've seen (with Smoak at 1st). I think all across the infield every player is in the conversation for top 3 best regular jays defenders for their position. Would be interesting to go down the list.

    Goins is the best defensive 2nd baseman in bluejays history.

    Does it need an explanation? Navarro, can't throw a runner out to save his life. Russ Martin shows up and all of a sudden he can throw out runners. I have no doubt training with and observing Martin has played a role in this. DN has said as much, at least the training part and concentrating on foot work.

    It would be pretty awesome if every major city in Canada sold out a small arena on the first day of the playoffs... they coould have live reactions all over Canada.. Some of the proceeds could go to the Jays care foundation.

    You don't think he has? He already said as much as he talked about training with Martin, playing lots of soccer which helped with his foot work. But really though should you be laughing at anybody? You spent your entire time in this board saying how AA needed to be fired. How is that working out for you?

    I literally think Martin made Navarro better this year. I don't think it is any coincidence Martin shows up and all of a sudden Navarro can throw out runners. I don't disagree with your point... All I am saying is I like where we are right now, with this team.

    And then we wouldn't have Russ Martin. Even though he's slumping. I want Martin.

    Goins with a walk off home run. JPA with 6 rbi's, most ever for a TAMPA catcher. There may be some stat heads ready to give up baseball........ oh yeah, Yan Gomes hit 2 home runs.

    He may have learned. Obviously he's not what he's been in the last month, but he could also not be what he's been the previous 400 or so PA before. It's just such a sharp improvement, you can at least hope he can be a very, very good utility infielder.

    She did get a ball signed by all the players there minus Josh Donaldson.... Also, she is 7 months pregnant and Buck told her if the baby is born on Nov.7 she has to name the baby Buck.

    I have followed the Jays religiously the last 5 years. Hardly missed so much as a spring training game. Last night my sister gets to go to some bowling event with all the players. She was taunting me texting me pictures all night. f***.

    I think he would hold is own right now. Doesn't mean he is ready (he's not), but a lot of times a young guy comes up and takes off before falling back to earth as pitching staffs get acclimated.

    Shouldnt he be on the velocity program that Delabar and others have used? I mean I know he never needed it, but when you reach a certian age you need to be proactive.

    I literally came down stairs to start a thread in dedication to the 2 year anniversary of the "Can Ryan Goins Stick" thread. Mods can you open it up again for the day?

    So many bad players constantly find themselves in 1-2 or 0-2 counts. JPA, it always seemed, would be up 2-0 or 3-1 and he'd just start hacking from there. Always would end up striking out swinging out of the zone.
