    Those FA, pitching contracts are just to risky. Look at Verlander, hit 30 and kind of fell off a cliff. It would be insane what Price or Cueto get in free agency. They will almost surely be bad contracts. Better off crossing your fingers and hoping Stroman becomes an ace and/or Osuna is as good at starting as he is at closing.

    I kind of like Ben Revere. I know this might sound stupid, but if this team was down by 1 run with 1 out in the ninth and a guy on 3rd, he might be the the guy I want at the plate. The guy, if nothing else, can put a ball in play, maybe better at that then anyone else on the team. I can't wait to see him on the bases.

    It was a little bitter sweet to see Norris do as well as he did.

    The loss suck... losing Valencia sucks. But come the f*** on people. Gibby never used the pen wrong. Lowe just sucked today. Maybe I would have liked to have seen MB start the 8th, but oh well.

    I really don't like the move. But considering how much he would have played, Not a big loss.

    The other thing AA has shown me is his ability to learn on the job. He looked at catcher and short, saw it couldn't work and did something about both positions.

    It looks better if you look at all the trades in the past year as one big trade.

    Isn't where he is today an indication of what your other options were? From everything I have read the Jays did their homework on the medicals. Of course it remains a concern, but all you can do is go by the best information you have now. I believe them if the think Tulo's injury history may not be reflective of his injury future.

    Another solid job by the Jays board. Though in fairness to John it was obvious he was attempting to engineer the reverse jinx.

    Jeff Hoffman and Daniel Norris..... and then a bunch of guys. Does the franchise future really hinge on that?

    Another solid trade. Of course it's expensive as hell. But that is what you spend.

    I strongly approve. I think he is a special GM, even though I agree with his biggest critics on some issues. What has hurt AA the most was having Bautista and EE in their prime and trying to make a couple of moves in order to try and make it work. Getting out of the Wells contract and trading for Tulo and Donaldson were great moves. Not fleecing moves, but great IMO. Signing Alford was great.

    I have a question. Say we are in it in September. Who comes up in September to help with the push? What about bringing up some speedsters, even though they are not ready in order to replace guys like EE, Smoak or Collabello late in games on the bases. Or late game defense. What other needs to you see that may need to be filled and who would you bring up to fill them.

    Reyes would have been a lot easier to handle if we had better pitching. But he just seemed so awful at short. Maybe he wasn't as bad as I thought., but it seemed that way.

    Ok. Did anyone else think AA was Jose Bautista as the presser was starting?

    I think we were. I thought Reyes was pretty weak. At least on the field he was.

    Yes, but it will be hard to get rid if Reyes (I think).... though he will not need to be moved by the deadline, because he will pass through waivers. Deals where both teams win are my favorite. I hope all the guys we gave up have productive careers and I hope Tulo helps us.

    You are really overestimating how easy it's going to be to trade Reyes. There are not many teams that would take him for free.
