They will be better then last year. But so what? Has a team out of the top 5 or 6 at the start of the season ever won an NBA championship?
  2. My god the KC radio guy is terrible.
  3. I think you have no clue what you are talking about. People don't realize just how great the Josh Donaldson trade was. And almost no other GM could have pulled it off. AA grew into a much better GM then what he was when he started. And he was good then. Even small deals like getting whoever that reliever was in order to get the comp pick... I don't even think the guy played a game for TO. Anthony Alford, Devon Travis for Anthony Gose. And most of all is I think he was really growing and learning on the job. Moves like Bonifacio at 2nd or stick so long with JPA, I don't think he does that know. I think right now with the experience he has had, he is the best if not one of the best GM's in the game.
  4. Really it was looking like he would have been fired? The day he was hired the Jays had won 24 of 29 games. When they were still interviewing Dave Dombrowski the Jays had won 15 of 18 and it was obvious to anyone this team was completely different (though they were better then their record all season). So don't be spewing that ******** that it was looking like AA would be fired at the end of the season.
  5. AA was an incredible GM. Josh Donaldson was one of the greatest trades I have ever seen... Not so much from a return of talent perspective but from the way he pulled it off. Anthony Alford is another one. Yeah he made a couple of bad deals but he had talents few GM's have.

The thing that bothers me about the NBA is that so many teams just have no chance before the season starts, much more so then any other major sport in North America. The Raptors should be fun to watch, but really, they have almost no chance, maybe a conference final. There is probably a 95% chance the NBA champions will come from whoever the top 5 teams are in the NBA preseason. I just looked at NBA preseason rankings through the last 10 years and only the Mavericks at 6 fell out of the top 5 preseason rankings. I couldn't get years prior to 2005, but I'm sure that trend would follow right through to the 80's (whatever definitive power ranking existed back then). I thought the Pistons might be a team that didn't crack the top 5, but they did make the conference final the year before, so they were probably ranked 4th or 5th going into their championship season. So back to the Raptors.... They are not going to contend for a championship, they are not very young and don't really have that superstar you need to win a finals. The only way I see them having a chance in the next 5 or 6 years is if Bruno is somehow great. Other then that... they're at best, part of the other 25 teams clogging up the league for the top 5.

I forgot how much I hated the sound of Jack Armstrongs voice.
  8. It's weird because the team almost has to do nothing with position players. It's all depth at Buffalo and pitching. Mind you there is a lot of need at pitching. But I think you can enter the season with alot of question marks at pitching as well.
  9. What if you put Bautista and EE at 1st and DH. And have an OF of Pompey/Saunders/ Pillar/Revre.. Not sure who would be the 4th man in that situation. And keep ping pong around to play as a bat off the bench/dh/1st base.
  10. Is there a draft pick attached to Estrada if he declines?
  11. Someone needs to make a table of contents for this GDT and pin it.
  12. This guy has to throw out the 1st pitch. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/10/12/meet-the-man-keeping-the-jays-reputation-intact-on-wikipedia.html
  13. I just think it's nothing more then Price is tired. He has a lot of miles on that arm this year. Also, this is why you don't want Price in any kind of long term deal. He might be pretty sketchy when he hits 32-33.
  14. I keep hearing he has one of the best change ups in baseball. Does having the best of something explain why he is beating expectations?
  15. I keep going back and forth, back and forth.... In the end. Dickey with a short leash. Does anyone else want Price to go two innings today just to guarantee Stroman in game 5?
  16. Where? Winnipeg is better then say Seattle or Boston? Is that why so many NHL players cannot wait to play in Winnipeg?
  17. I think more then anything it showed the extreme inferiority complex Canadians have.
  18. It really depends on so much. They should have been up about 7 today and they very well could be tomorrow. If you can get to Holland for a big lead, you got to ride Dicky as long as you can. I'd love to see a complete game 8-4 win for the Jays. Going to game 5 with Stroman and Price ready to go.
  19. I think I would go with Dicky and give him 2 runs. Hope he goes 5. If we are up big let him go for as long as possible. If he puts two on in the third... Put price in the game.
  20. I was just going to say the same. I don't know if I personally have found a more likable guy in baseball.
  21. Great year from Pillar and Goins. I wonder if you could get an effective starter if you packaged them... might want to keep them around though.
  22. Show up at 12:30 and just hangout in the lobby. Theyll get the room ready pretty quick.
  23. There might be another shoe to drop in this story.
