    Best we can hope for is that JP keeps breaking through mainstream statistical floors. BA almost below .200. SLG is currently below .400. If he really slumps down teh stretch it isn't out of the question to see him post a sub .200 OBP. (line of .173/.209/.318 in the 2nd half so far!) Think about that. An OBP of .200 lol. How is that even possible. Probably won't happen though.

    If all of those toolsy, forgettable OFers (Alford, Anderson, Davis etc) were in the Cards/A's/Rays system they'd all probably be in the bigs or knocking on the door of being a top 100 prospect by now. Seems like very few of our players have any basic fundamental abilities by the time they get to the higher levels. They just take high risk players and throw them at the wall hoping they'll stick. There is no plan. If someone still shows absolutely nothing in the minors (Gose) they'll get promoted based on them passing the "eye test" in the past. The kids in the system have no idea where they'll be in a year. They have no idea what is rewarded or valued within the system. It's just like a bunch of random guys with peach fuzz doing a bunch of random things.

    Will never burn us? We have two guys in Reyes/Buehlre that will become massive payroll liabilities if they don't stay healthy/perform. I don't think anyone would do that trade again in retrospect.

    I went home to watch the pre-game show on my lunch break and my head almost exploded listening to Zaun's analysis. The Miami trade is still a huge win? Reyes is the one current Jay you'd build around? Josh Johnson only "slightly underperformed". He said a bunch of other mind blowing stuff but I can't remember. It's official, Gregg Zaun wears a helmet in the shower.
