  1. While Seager is younger, he has a significant injury history and may already be due for a demotion down the defensive spectrum (to 3B most likely). I think he falls under the Semien deal by a fair bit.
  2. Kirk is simply the most expendable Blue Jay, and could return the young starter you refer to. A win-win deal for both sides, in other words.
  3. The BA writeup of last month does question the bat speed / power. Groshans has been projected defensively to 3B or corner OF, so he needs the power to come through. Groshans stands out for his feel for hitting. He can square up good fastballs, adjust to offspeed pitches and has good strike-zone judgement with an approach that allows him to use the whole field. He tightened his swing by condensing some of the bigger movements he had previously, which helped him stay more under control rather than trying to cheat to get to more power. Figuring out how to tap back into more game power will be critical for Groshans, who probably ends up at third base. Some evaluators are skeptical that his bat speed and approach will ever result in big power numbers, while others think he could get to average or better power. Groshans has a plus arm and improved defensively in New Hampshire, but his quickness and range are better suited for third base, where he spent around one-third of his defensive innings in 2021.
  4. Half the teams in baseball were on Semien. You were wrong, bro.
  5. Gurriel a good fit for Miami. Then get Conforto or someone.
  6. There won't be one. Moreno is getting daily 3B reps for a reason. The offense is more than capable, and will be even more so when Moreno is elevated. The needs are another MLB rotation SP, SP depth, and BP help.
  7. It's like 50/50 Scherzer gets through 2022 without a major arm issue
  8. What are your expectations of a 6th starter? Stripling is ideal as a 6th starter, man.
  9. If the Mets do that, it's pretty much a guarantee Mad Max's arm will fall off in 2022. It's the way of the Mets.
  10. Shatkins >>>>>> Grant
  11. Jays need to parlay that catcher surplus into a solid back end starter
  12. lol, he's been a solid #6 for years
  13. Fantastic signing, terms are great.
  14. Given these prices, Jays would be wise to focus on locking up Vlad and Bo.
  15. Entirely possible they go into the season with Espinal and Biggio as the primary 3B options.
  16. Javier Baez can play every position on the diamond but catcher reasonably well. He's a great fit for the Jays IMO.
  17. But think of the poor animals. It's being done as a joke. A friend of mine that is all about saving pigs from slaughter has 3 full grown pigs with full residence access. Nutty.
  18. I see nothing wrong with the post.
  19. AAV seems high to us by maybe $1M? Pretty minor detail. The market this offseason seems more competitive than usual, so. Jays sign a Chafin, McHugh, Tepera type, I'm happy with the arm barn going into 2022. A flier on a Rosenthal, Yates maybe.
  20. He would be close, yes. A few more productive seasons and he will clear 65 fWAR and be pretty much a guarantee. A 150 career wRC+ is #30 in baseball history.
  21. Not really, there are only so many players on a lineup card.
  22. The seemingly more competitive FA market this year is why it makes more sense for 1 FA SP signing, and 1 SP acquired by trade, as I've posted a few times.
  23. You thanked BTS post, look back previous page
  24. Corey Seager and JD Martinez will be available for dispersal pick(s)
