    He might be a pretty good arm barn piece. His problem is his fastball velocity which starts out OK but declines inning by inning. Shouldn't be a problem out of the arm barn.

    Again, one by signing, and one cost controlled pitcher (Fish) by trade makes the most sense for the Jays. Will leave plenty of cash for in season moves.

    Jesus f*** Matz is under no obligation to take the highest bid anyway. Matz decided to take the Cards offer, regardless of any Mets new offer, case closed. If Cohen really wanted Matz, he should have ponied up in the first place instead of trying to just beat out whatever other offers are out there. That's also known as nickel and diming.

    Every long term big money deal is potentially franchise crippling. This one is way more likely to deliver very high surplus value.

    It's a concern. He struggled with pitch recognition but got better as the season went on.

    Same, his rise from a guy that hardly played baseball to holding his own in AAA has been meteoric. Kid's going to get even better, maybe much better, with more reps.

    Yes if i was rebuilding i'd take the deal in a heartbeat. Really like my chances this year though. Plus its hard to say if Glasnow will come back the same pitcher or if he will drop down to a mid rotation talent.

    He came back, pitched 3 innings, and was shut down the rest of the year with elbow trouble. No one is writing him off, but its looking rather dim. Many, many pitching prospects flame out with a dead arm.

    I don't think there's any way Canada prevents unvaxxed MLB players from coming to play in Toronto. MLB will react by forcing Toronto to play out of Buffalo. The political blowback of this is too great. There will be a deal, just as before.
