    Donovan 19 SB in MiLB this year, probably 55 to 60 speed. Tough out for anyone on a hit down the 3B line.

    If Matz true market value on a one year deal is $15-16M, the $2-3M premium to lock down SP security early in the season in an uncertain FA market has very little impact on the ability to sign other players to multi year deals. Eh, $21M for 1 year of Syndergaard who is probably going to struggle the first few months (like almost every TJS returnee).

    They might end up wishing they had depending on how the rest of the offseason goes. A 1 year committment is different and priced differently than 7 years.

    Good deal, even assuming a couple of years are lost to injury or suckage, it works out to 5 year / 140M or $28M AAV which is fine for a pitcher of his calibre.

    I wouldn't object to Schwarber but would rather they spend that money on pitching, and rotate players through the DH position. For 3B, my number 1 is JD, in part because he will get hurt at some point, which will probably coincide with a perfect time to elevate Moreno. 1. Springer, CF 2. Bichette, SS 3. Guerrero, 1B 4. Teoscar, RF 5. JD / Player Rotation, DH 6. Gurriel, LF 7. Jansen/Kirk/Moreno, C 8. Moreno / JD, 3B 9. Biggio, 2B
