    My thinking is that I don't want the team to give up the 2 pitching prospects that are in the upper minors this year with JJ being a FA at the end of the year, Morrow sucking and injured, RR's implosion, Dickey's suckiness and Buehrle's age. I believe the franchise is better off with these 2 guys starting next season at AAA and providing starting pitching depth.

    I like Kendrick, but I wouldn't give up Nolin + Stroman for him so there's probably no match.

    Expect 40K crowds on weekend if this team continues to be in the race. Exactly what ownership wanted when they told baseball ops to make sure they improved this team and striking out on FA's who didn't want to play in TO wasn't an acceptable excuse.

    No surprise. It seems to be hard for a lot of people on this board to believe that free agents would prefer not to sign with the Blue Jays, for whatever reason.

    I'd rather wait till the offseason. With Reyes almost back, Izturis playing better and Lawrie back in a couple of weeks, there would be 2 weak spots, C and 2B. Cabrera hasn't performed great, but I'd like to think he'll get it going, a DL stint wouldn't hurt.

    I agree with you and most here do as well. I would just say that Lawrie and DeRosa have a place on the team so it's not one at the expense of the other. DeRosa knows his role is on the bench and is actually the only right handed hitter with power off the bench. DeRosa has done a good job even though a lot of us wanted him DFA'ed earlier in the year so many of us were wrong about him, some are just not willing to admit it.

    You're wrong bro, reread the thread. When he said 'at least', he was responding to someone suggesting it would take Sanchez + Gose. So the other poster says it'll take Sanchez + Gose and KSaw replies that it would take at least that package and suggests it would be Lawrie + Gose + Stroman by saying "try" meaning "more like" Lawrie + Gose + Stroman...at least this is the way I read it.

    Keep the prospects, the system is looking a bit better with Jimenez, Burns, Pillar, Stroman, Nolin at AA and AAA with Hutchison coming back and Sanchez back from injury. And let's not forget that Romero kid! haha.

    I'd be surprised if Morrow came back this year at all. It's really only Happ and he won't like being sent down to Buffalo, but at least that's about a month away. Also, our Wang may have softened up by then.

    Seeing the way this team is playing without him "should" help Lawrie to calm down a tiny bit, at least I hope so. I've said that once he's back, they need to not play him every single game. Give Lawrie 2 days off a week, maybe 3, to let him watch the game from the bench and maybe plant a tiny bit of doubt about his importance to the team. Just a thought.
