  1. How can this organization not see that this JPA guy can't catch and can't hit? Then again, they can't see Bonifiasco can't do much so no surprise.
  2. Wanna elaborate for the twitterless dinosaurs among us? Davidi is a Blue Jays' apologist so it wouldn't surprise me.
  3. I posted on Thursday that I had no clue why Cecil and Delabar were in that game and I thought it should've been Oliver and McGowan. The title of this article was "When GOOD MANAGERS make bad decisions" and those are exactly my thoughts, not saying he's bad at managing a bullpen. However, he made the wrong decision on Thursday and the result was a Brett Cecil pitching on Friday after throwing 20 pitches on Thursday. There's nothing wrong with pointing out that he screwed up.
  4. I think AA would need to hire kevin costner to protect him if he did that
  5. Here's what I think of the bulpen use the last 2 games: http://http://www.bluebirdbanter.com/2013/6/29/4476602/when-good-managers-make-bad-decisions-bullpen-edition Hope the link works
  6. Stand the heck pat or trade JJ and Buehrle if they're below .500 around July 25th. Enough with gutting the farm system.
  7. Well, if you take out their record against......hahaha. It is what is. JJ is inconsistent and seems to be nibbling by throwing a lot of sliders in the dirt. The guy doesn't throw as hard as he used to, but he's still got a 91-94 mph fastball so I don't know why he nibbles so much so it's probably JPA's fault.
  8. As far as spending goes, I can't believe teams with big payrolls don't look at the Pujols, Hamilton debacles to see how unwise it is to give out such long and expensive contracts to guys in their 30s. The Yanks themselves have a couple of big contracts to aging, in-decline players to learn from. Will teams learn from these examples? Not sure. I don't think it's as simple as saying these teams' GMs are dumb, I think it comes from not wanting to retool or rebuild for a few years given their markets where they want to keep ratings and attendance strong.
  9. I'll go with Bautista today.
  10. Not feeling good about this team right now, it's just gone back into April mode or close to it on this roadtrip. Le't hope they can avoid the sweep today. If they won today and tomorrow I'd be thrilled.
  11. Speaking of LHP, when is Norris scheduled to have his TJS?
  12. The trade ain't going to be undone by complaining about it. Is it painful to watch Syndergaard CONTINUE to dominate? Of course it is and it will be worse once D'Arnaud is healthy and JPA continues to stink not to mention the "throw in" suspect who could develop into a top prospect in a couple of years. I hated the trade. I could live with the Marlins trade because you got 2 starters and a very good position player and the team's rotation was in shambles even with the high salaries. Anyway...
  13. While it is true that the pitching is simply not there, like you state, there will be 13-14 games left before the ASB after playing the Red Sox this weekend. I think most here would've taken it if the team went into the ASB at .500, so that's still possible. It is also possible that the team goes into the break a couple of games over/under .500. They'll have a 10-game homestand right after the break where they play the Rays, Dodgers and 4 against the Astros, that could be the deciding factor as far as whether to be sellers or stand pat at the deadline, but a lot can happen before then. I don't think it's realistic to think they'll catch the Red Sox, but the WC's are a possibility after the 11-gamer we'll see what happens.
  14. Do Anthony Alford's 6 BB's in 22 AB's count? How about Dan Jansen's 4 BB's in 9 AB's?
  15. Can someone explain to me why Gibbons continues to play Arencibia 4/5 games and Bonifacio instead of Kawa at 2B?
  16. So Gibbons is having an off series in bullpen management...looking like Farrell out there.
  17. Last time Oliver pitched? Monday at TB, I have no clue why he hasn't been put in a game since.
  18. Oliver and McGowan should've pitched last night instead of Cecil and Delabar.
  19. Cecil shouldn't have pitched last night (threw 20 pitches).
  20. When is Gibbons going to stop playing Arencibia 4/5 games?
